Essential Functions:
Trade Sales & Support (Mexico, Caribbean, and Central America)
- Achieve sales goals as the in-market brand ambassador for assigned travel agency regional portfolio.
- Manage a travel agency portfolio ensuring a high level of consultative selling through effective communication, consistent engagement, and tactical negotiation of annual agreements providing recommendations based on overall cost of sale/total value of account analysis.
- Establish revenue targets with appropriate agency partners and consistently review revenue productivity and progress toward achieving assigned targets.
- Consistently foster and maintain collaborative and proactive communication with Marriott GSO and RCYC sales peers that drive business and further establish an ongoing commitment to corporate objectives.
- Represent the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection in various trade shows, conferences, seminars, annual events, ship inspections, and other sales-related functions as appropriate or as requested.
- Conduct in-person/virtual educational training (in-person or virtual via webinars) to targeted travel advisors on product awareness and selling.
- Support agency partners in identifying group opportunities with the objective of developing and securing affinity and promotional group business.
- Using critical thinking with a focus on ROI, efficiently manage an assigned annual budget provided for the purpose of supporting mutually agreed cooperative marketing plans and developed in partnership with agencies in assigned regions. Will be required to provide a monthly forecast of marketing budget spend and submit all invoices on a timely basis.
- Maintain database of travel advisors for the purpose of communicating offers, news, and information in conjunction with marketing.
- Communicate and measure goals for the Strategic Account Portfolio; continuously driving growth strategies for accounts to meet and exceed targets.
- Provide win-win service resolution for agency issues.
Future Voyage Sales (Sales Management)
- Lead and mentor the onboard Future Voyage Concierge (FVC) sales teams fostering a high-performance culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- Manage organizational change by identifying areas for business transformation, leading change initiatives, and ensuring successful execution.
- Develop short and long-term strategic plans to drive revenue, improve operational performance, and position the FVC team for sustained growth.
- Identify opportunities for sales optimization and bring them forward for review and agreed implementation.
- Be the subject matter expert for all onboard sales issues providing resolution and support across the organization.
- Communicate and measure goals for the FVC portfolio; continuously driving growth strategies for accounts to meet and exceed targets.
- Collaborate with various departments within the company including but not limited to Ship Operations, Marketing, Revenue Management, IT, and Trade Sales to create programs that drive sales within their assigned sales region to achieve commercial objectives.
- Leverage marketing, analytics, sales strategies, and operations to drive actions that exceed profitable revenue and sales targets.
- Upon request, required to provide a detailed annual sales development plan that provides sales territory analysis including requested marketing funds, trade show/conference attendance, anticipated travel & entertainment expenses, sponsorship opportunities, memberships, etc.
- Participate in onboard events as required as well as plan and host familiarization voyages as required.
- Competent in creating and submitting required monthly reports or ad-hoc reports in a timely manner as requested. Reports will include but are not limited to “The Weekly” Sales Activity Report, Monthly Expense reports, Marketing spend Forecast, and a 90-day planned calendar.
- Participate in onboard events as required as well as plan and host familiarization voyages as required.
Competency
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant background and/or sales experience.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5-year travel industry preferred or 4 years in a commercial, revenue-generating environment with a client-facing sales or marketing focus. Luxury hotel/cruise experience is a plus.
- Must possess both spoken and written bi-lingual proficiency in both English and Spanish or Portuguese or ideally in all three.
- Possess outstanding written & verbal communication skills including dynamic public-speaking skills (webinars/presentations).
- Results-oriented and strong decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting company objectives are a must.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including competent skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Must commit to delivering high-level customer service across all departments and organizations.
- Willingness to adhere to company policy & procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally, hold a valid passport, and state driver's license, and maintain a clean driving record. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
Key Performance Indicators
- Revenue Targets, monthly, quarterly, and annually or as assigned.
- Strategic Account (assigned FIT Travel agencies) managed growth and development.
- Facilitation of GSO and MILUX collaboration and utilization.
Expected Hours of Work
The position is full-time and frequently requires working additional time outside of normal business hours. Some travel to ships or regional offices may be required.
