Location: Remote, available from anywhere within the U.S.

Travel: Occasional travel required to support RISE events, internal team retreats, operational planning activities, and other business needs that support program delivery and organizational effectiveness.

The Opportunity

The Managing Director, Operations leads the operational strategy, infrastructure, and systems that support the successful delivery and growth of Lavinia Group's, a division of K12 Coalition, products and services. This role is responsible for building scalable operational processes, aligning resources to organizational priorities, and ensuring teams have the structure, systems, and support needed to execute effectively.

The Managing Director oversees finance, contracting, resource planning, and operational functions across curriculum, RISE, coaching, and professional learning. This role is responsible for ensuring the division has the staffing models, workforce plans, vendor partnerships, and operational infrastructure necessary to meet program delivery needs throughout the year, including periods of peak demand.

What You’ll Do

Operational Strategy & Organizational Scalability

• Develop and execute operational strategies that support organizational growth, scalability, and long-term sustainability.

• Align operational priorities with business objectives and organizational goals.

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery across the division.

• Partner with senior leaders to anticipate operational needs and proactively address capacity constraints.

• Develop and implement operational plans that support organizational priorities during periods of growth and increased demand.

Operations Management

• Oversee curriculum, RISE, coaching, professional learning operations, and division-wide finances.

• Ensure operational readiness and successful delivery across programs and services.

• Maintain systems, processes, and workflows that support organizational effectiveness.

• Establish operational standards and best practices across service lines.

• Monitor operational performance, utilization, and key business metrics.

People Leadership & Workforce Management

• Lead and develop operations team members and leaders.

• Build organizational capacity through effective team structure, talent development, and succession planning.

• Establish accountability, performance expectations, and opportunities for professional growth.

• Oversee workforce planning strategies that support year-round operations and seasonal program delivery needs.

• Partner with leaders to forecast staffing needs and ensure appropriate allocation of full-time employees, part-time staff, and external resources.

• Support the recruitment, onboarding, deployment, and management of seasonal and temporary staff as needed.

• Foster collaboration and accountability across the operations function.

Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement

• Evaluate and improve workflows, systems, policies, and operational procedures.

• Implement solutions that enhance consistency, efficiency, and scalability.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen organizational performance.

• Use operational data and insights to inform decision-making and process enhancements.

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Partner closely with product, school partnerships, and strategic initiatives leaders to support organizational goals.

• Ensure operational considerations are incorporated into planning, implementation, and growth efforts.

• Support a seamless experience for both internal teams and external partners through strong operational execution.

Other Duties

• Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.

• Bachelor's degree required.

• 7+ years of leadership experience in operations, business administration, project management, or related fields.

• Experience managing complex operational processes and systems.

• Demonstrated success leading teams and improving operational effectiveness.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience supporting multiple functions within a growing organization.

• Ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
