Lead Complex Industrial Transformation Projects That Deliver Safer, More Sustainable Outcomes

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Remediation Construction and Demolition Manager to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is an opportunity for an experienced field leader to play a pivotal role in managing large-scale remediation, decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition (DDD) projects across complex industrial environments. You'll work alongside project managers, engineers, contractors, and safety professionals to deliver technically challenging projects safely, efficiently, and successfully while helping clients navigate some of their most critical environmental and operational priorities.

Why This Role Matters

Industrial facilities across North America are facing increasing demands related to site redevelopment, environmental remediation, asset retirement, and infrastructure transformation. As a Managing Technical Consultant, you will serve as ERM's on-site leader, ensuring these high-profile projects are executed safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

Your expertise will directly influence project success, client satisfaction, contractor performance, and environmental outcomes while helping shape innovative solutions for complex industrial challenges.

What Your Impact Is

In this role, you'll lead field operations for remediation and industrial demolition projects at facilities such as oil and gas operations, power plants, and former chemical manufacturing sites. You will oversee contractors, manage construction activities, support project delivery teams, and ensure environmental, safety, quality, and budget objectives are achieved.

Your leadership will help transform industrial sites while maintaining the highest standards of safety, technical excellence, and client service.

What You'll Bring

Required

  • BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience with remediation construction sites and industrial decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent client service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel and spend 80-90% of time in the field.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training required (OSHA 30-hour Construction and 8-hour Supervisor training a plus).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as ERM's on-site manager overseeing decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition projects at diverse industrial sites, including oil and gas facilities, power plants, and former chemical manufacturing plants.
  • Manage field construction projects involving demolition, environmental remediation, civil works, site development, earthwork, hazardous waste management, and related activities.
  • Lead field implementation of both innovative and traditional remedial solutions for contaminated soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor.
  • Assist with the planning and oversight of remediation and decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition projects.
  • Review contractor submittals and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide construction management support and quality assurance oversight.
  • Support site investigations and hazardous materials handling activities.
  • Serve as Field Safety Officer and Demolition Manager when required.
  • Plan and schedule on-site personnel and evaluate subcontractor performance.
