This is an opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to combine technical expertise, project leadership, client engagement, and mentorship while working alongside industry-leading experts. You'll help clients navigate complex regulatory environments, implement cutting-edge remediation technologies, and develop sustainable solutions that create lasting environmental impact.

Why This Role Matters

Environmental challenges are becoming increasingly complex, and clients are looking for trusted advisors who can balance technical excellence, regulatory compliance, project execution, and business objectives. In this role, you will lead critical site investigation and remediation projects for clients in the Power, Chemical, and Manufacturing sectors, helping them manage environmental liabilities, protect natural resources, and achieve compliance goals. Your expertise will directly influence project success, client relationships, and the development of future environmental solutions.

  • Lead and manage complex site investigation and remediation projects for industrial clients with challenging technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply innovative and emerging remediation technologies to develop effective and sustainable solutions for contaminated sites.
  • Deliver high-quality technical and regulatory outcomes while managing project scope, schedule, budget, and client expectations.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients that support long-term partnerships and repeat business.
  • Mentor and develop junior professionals, helping strengthen ERM's technical capabilities and project delivery excellence.
  • Contribute to business growth through proposal development, client engagement, and collaboration across ERM's multidisciplinary teams.

What You'll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with progressive project management responsibility for complex site investigation and remediation projects under a variety of local, state, and federal regulatory frameworks (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, voluntary action programs).
  • In-depth knowledge and experience working with Tennessee (TN) and Kentucky (KY) environmental regulations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Environmental field work experience.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including adherence to established Health and Safety protocols.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
  • Ability to multitask, maintain flexibility, travel as needed, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Professional licensure in Tennessee and/or Kentucky.
  • Local candidates within the Nashville area or surrounding region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects involving site investigation and remediation of soil, groundwater, sediments, and free-phase product for clients with complex technical and regulatory issues in the Power, Chemical, and Manufacturing sectors.
  • Plan and oversee field activities including sampling, drilling, well installation, soil, groundwater, and free-phase product assessment, vapor intrusion assessment, remedial pilot testing, and remedial system construction oversight.
  • Design and negotiate remedial solutions for contaminated soil and groundwater using innovative and emerging remedial treatment technologies as well as traditional systems.
  • Manage due diligence assessments consistent with ASTM Phase I standards and other global protocols, including broad-based compliance assessments and follow-on Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Ensure technical accuracy and quality across project deliverables.
  • Delegate project assignments appropriately and mentor junior team members to support professional development and project success.
  • Prepare technical proposals and actively participate in business development efforts with existing clients and identified leads.
