Role Description The Mandarin to English Interpreter is a full-time, fully remote role responsible for providing accurate, real-time interpretation during virtual calls across various domains, including medical, legal, and business communications. The interpreter will listen to Mandarin speakers, convey messages clearly and faithfully in English, and interpret English responses back into Mandarin, maintaining the original meaning, tone, and intent. Daily tasks include managing scheduled and on-demand calls, clarifying terminology as needed, and adhering to confidentiality and professional ethics standards at all times. The role also involves documenting key call details when required, following client-specific protocols, and participating in periodic training and quality reviews to maintain high performance. The interpreter collaborates with supervisors and support staff to resolve technical or procedural issues and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Qualifications

• Strong language proficiency in Mandarin and English, with excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension skills in both languages.
• Demonstrated interpreting skills, including consecutive interpretation, accurate message transfer, and the ability to maintain tone and intent.
• Knowledge of terminology and concepts in at least one specialized area (e.g., medical, legal, customer service, or business communications).
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills, including clear diction, cultural sensitivity, and professional telephone etiquette.
• Technical readiness to work remotely, including reliable high-speed internet, a quiet workspace, and familiarity with call center or communication software.
• Ability to work full time with consistent availability, manage time effectively, and handle a high volume of calls while maintaining quality.
• Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
• Previous experience in interpretation, translation, or related language services is preferred; call center experience is a plus.
• Relevant education such as a degree or certification in linguistics, translation/interpretation, communications, or a related field is beneficial.
