About the team
Our Marine sales team drives profitable growth across Florida, with most of the business concentrated in South Florida, by serving key accounts and managing a network of distributors and wholesalers. The team works with ship owners, managers and operators, ports, shipyards and OEMs, supported by customer operations, business support and technical services colleagues.
Key tasks
- Win new business across the marine sector, targeting ship owners, managers and operators, ports, shipyards and OEMs.
- Manage and grow an established book of key accounts, delivering volume, turnover, margin and debtor targets.
- Develop and implement joint business plans with distributors, coaching them on sales performance, capability, health and safety, and compliance.
- Make joint customer calls with distributors, from small fishing operations to large fleets, and deliver product and service training.
- Spend at least 60% of your time with customers and distributors across Florida, building trusted relationships at all levels.
- Conduct volume and margin analysis, support tenders, monitor pricing integrity, and make customer-level pricing decisions within delegated authority.
- Gather customer, sector and competitor insight to inform offer development and monthly business reviews.
- Lead virtual customer account teams, drawing on customer operations, business support and technical services.
Experience required
- Degree or tertiary business qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Proven B2B sales experience with a track record of winning new business and delivering targets.
- Strong commercial acumen, including building business plans and managing account profitability.
- Experience managing key accounts and selling through distributors or channel partners.
- Ability to build relationships and adapt communication across all levels, from senior executives to owner-operators on site.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and use digital tools to support the sales process.
- Based in Florida and able to travel regularly across the state.
