Role Summary
The Market Data Services Analyst is responsible for managing the financial, operational, and governance aspects of the firm's market data portfolio. This role oversees market data forecasting, vendor management, invoice administration, Commission Sharing Agreement (CSA) program management, cost allocation, and reporting activities. The position partners with Finance, Procurement, Technology, Compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure effective stewardship of market data investments and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Manage market data budgets, forecasts, and expense planning activities.
- Develop and maintain financial models, cost allocation methodologies, and management reporting.
- Administer and optimize the Commission Sharing Agreement (CSA) program, including eligibility reviews, spend analysis, and governance controls.
- Oversee vendor invoice processing, reconciliation, allocations, and financial reporting.
- Maintain inventories of market data services, subscriptions, users, and associated costs.
- Analyze market data expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, Technology, and business stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, and strategic initiatives.
- Produce management reporting on market data spend, forecasts, vendor activity, and CSA utilization.
- Design and enhance tools, processes, and reporting solutions to improve operational efficiency and financial transparency.
- Support governance activities, audits, contract administration, and policy compliance related to market data services.
- Document and maintain operational procedures, controls, and best practices.
- Participate in strategic initiatives to improve the management, oversight, and value realization of the firm's market data investments.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data governance, data management, market data, operations, or related data-focused functions.
- Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and data governance frameworks.
- Experience working with financial services data, reference data, market data, or investment management processes.
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI, Excel, or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into data management solutions and operational improvements.
- Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with technology, operations, compliance, and business stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present data concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting the Investments/Finance/Asset Manager industries

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
Base Salary Ranges

$77,000.00 - $131,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers$84,500.00 - $144,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$96,500.00 - $164,000.00 for the location of: New York, California
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
