THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE
Treasury Risk & Analytics is looking for a Market Risk Analyst based out of London.
We’re looking for a Market Risk Analyst to join our team, which sits within the wider Treasury Risk & Analytics area. In this role, you will be responsible for reporting, monitoring, and control of the risks associated with the bank’s Liquid Asset Buffer positions (fixed income and derivative related products), as well as assisting with other areas covered by the team such as valuation risk and the risk to banks Defined Benefit Pension Fund.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, with a mixture of daily and longer timeline deliverables such as in-depth reviews and project work. We are a high-pace environment, collaborating across the team to help meet competing demands; we work with front office, finance, IT, and other areas within risk, to deliver an effective and efficient service to the business and management.
We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Reporting and analysing Risk and P&L, including against risk appetite limits.
- Developing the risk and P&L measurement and reporting infrastructure.
- Reviewing and enhancing controls in the reporting processes.
- Working closely with the front office and various support teams on a daily basis.
- Assisting in projects and ad-hoc analysis that aid the understanding of underlying risks.

- Good knowledge of accounting and P&L concepts, including mark-to-market valuation, realised and unrealised P&L, interest accruals, and the treatment of fair-value movements through P&L or Other Comprehensive Income (OCI). (Required).
Education
- Degree in a numerical subject (e.g. economics, finance, mathematics, statistics). (Required).
- Recognised professional certification like CFA or FRM. (Preferred).
Hard Skills
- Advanced expertise in Excel. (Required).
- Some experience of programming e.g. Excel VBA, SQL. (Preferred).
