This position supports day-to-day content development, campaign execution, communications, and brand management across CHI’s organizational priorities—including awareness campaigns, donor communications, internal communications, social media and partner-facing materials. This role ensures high-quality, timely, brand-aligned messaging that advances CHI’s mission, strengthens stakeholder engagement and supports the work of the Director of Communications & Media Relations. By providing dedicated operational capacity, the MarComms Specialist enables the communications team to scale campaigns, strengthen storytelling and support CHI’s expanding revenue, partnership, awareness, and engagement initiatives. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for the Marketing Communications Specialist is $70,000-$80,000 based on the qualifications and years of relevant experience the selected candidate brings. Work Submission Submitting previous work, such as a portfolio, writing sample, or relevant work sample, is highly preferable. The sample could be any past example of a work asset, marketing plan, press release, op-ed, email that is part of an email marketing campaign, blog post, social media posts, or anything that shows off what you can do! Key Responsibilities Create, edit, proofread, and publish internal and external marketing and communications content across multiple channels. Copyedit and proofread organizational deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards. Publish, update, and maintain website content, including quick website edits and content updates. Support the development of partner, donor, participant, and stakeholder-facing marketing and communications materials. Draft, produce, schedule, and manage social media content across organizational platforms. Support the execution of paid and organic digital marketing campaigns and content distribution efforts. Draft, publish, and schedule internal and external email communications and marketing campaigns. Monitor, track, and report on media coverage and public relations activities. Build, maintain, and update media contact lists and outreach databases. Draft media pitches, press materials, and other public relations content to support communications initiatives. Conduct research to support media relations, communications strategies, and marketing campaigns. Create and update marketing assets including graphics, social media visuals, one-pagers, and simple layouts in accordance with brand guidelines. Support photo and video editing needs for marketing campaigns, storytelling initiatives, and promotional content. Assist in drafting, editing, and distributing internal communications, including newsletters, staff updates, and organizational announcements. Support communications planning and coordination for internal meetings, special initiatives, and organization-wide events, including town halls. Collect, track, and analyze marketing and communications data to support KPI reporting, performance measurement, and dashboard maintenance. Coordinate the ordering, production, and distribution of marketing materials, printed collateral, and promotional items. Support marketing and communications activities related to organizational events and campaign initiatives. Provide administrative support for marketing and communications projects and activities as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Reporting Structure and Key Relationships This position reports to the Director of Communications. Qualifications and Requirements Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in Marketing or related fields. Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for a business or organization. Strong content development and storytelling skills, with experience creating engaging marketing, communications, and public relations materials. Experience managing email marketing platforms, such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar tools, including email creation, scheduling, list management, and performance tracking. Strong strategic and analytical skills to interpret data and drive informed decisions Experience working cross-functionally across an organization to support project execution Highly organized, with strong project management and operational discipline Familiarity with website management preferred Experience with graphic design and video editing using platforms such as Canva preferred Prior healthcare experience preferred Skills: Outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills; Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (Monday.com or equivalent); Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest ethical standards, including confidentiality and handling sensitive situations and information with the utmost discretion and diplomacy. Working Conditions The Marketing Specialist works primarily in a remote environment with a standard full-time schedule, though occasional irregular hours may be required to support deliverables and events. This role values adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Regular communication via Teams, Zoom, email, or similar tools is essential to maintain alignment and productivity. The position requires the ability to meet deadlines, deliver high-quality work independently, and use standard office equipment and technology. Occasional travel may be required for conferences, meetings, retreats, and other business-related events.
