We're looking for a Marketing & Corporate Affairs Manager to join our Marketing & Corporate Affairs team on a permanent basis. In this role, you'll lead the planning, development and delivery of a wide range of marketing, communications and engagement activities that help strengthen our brand, build trust, enhance our reputation and engage key audiences both internally and externally. You’ll work across a variety of projects, including marketing campaigns, communication initiatives, events, stakeholder engagement activity and key business announcements, ensuring the right messages reach the right audiences through the most effective channels.
You will be responsible for shaping and delivering high-quality marketing and communication outputs, using audience insights and data to inform decisions, drive engagement and achieve business objectives. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation and external partners, you'll create compelling content and campaigns while ensuring all activity aligns with brand, governance, compliance and accessibility standards. You'll also evaluate performance, identify opportunities for improvement and help deliver innovative approaches that enhance audience engagement and business outcomes.
As a key member of the team, you'll collaborate with senior leaders, business stakeholders and specialist partners to deliver impactful initiatives, manage competing priorities and support the Society's response to emerging risks, issues and opportunities. You will play an important role in protecting and enhancing Nationwide's brand and reputation, while helping the business adapt to changing customer expectations, communication channels and market trends.
To be successful, you'll bring experience in marketing, communications, public affairs, internal communications, event management or a related field, along with strong stakeholder management, planning and communication skills. You'll be comfortable translating insight into action, managing multiple projects simultaneously and working within a regulated environment to deliver high-quality outcomes for members, colleagues and wider stakeholders.
We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon or London office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
Whilst these locations are where we are primarily looking to fill the role, if you’re an internal applicant based in a different location we would welcome your application and if successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this could work for this specific role. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
Nationwide is committed to the redeployment of our employees impacted by change, as such applications for redeployment candidates will be prioritised in this recruitment process.
If you’re a colleague on long-term absence (for example, on parental leave) or a temporary worker, please use your personal email address to submit an application.
What you’ll be doing
As a Marketing & Corporate Affairs Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering marketing, communications and engagement activity that helps strengthen Nationwide's brand, reputation and relationships with key audiences. Working across a broad range of initiatives, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering integrated marketing and communication plans that support business objectives, drive engagement and ensure consistent, impactful messaging across multiple channels.
You'll work closely with stakeholders from across the Society, including senior leaders, business teams and external partners, to plan and deliver campaigns, communications, events and engagement activity. From initial concept and planning through to execution and evaluation, you'll help ensure activity is delivered effectively, on time and in line with business priorities.
A key focus of the role will be creating compelling and audience-focused communications that inform, engage and influence colleagues, members and external stakeholders. You'll be responsible for developing high-quality content, managing communication channels and ensuring all activity aligns with brand standards, governance requirements and regulatory expectations.

Working collaboratively across Marketing, Digital, Risk, Legal and business teams, you'll help ensure communications are customer-focused, compliant and deliver meaningful outcomes.
You'll also play an important role in supporting the continuous improvement of marketing and communication practices, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, strengthen stakeholder engagement and improve the effectiveness of delivery. Through strong relationship management and a proactive approach, you'll help influence decision-making, manage competing priorities and support the successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
As a trusted marketing and communications professional, you'll bring excellent stakeholder management, planning and communication skills, along with the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. Through your work, you'll help enhance Nationwide's reputation, strengthen audience engagement and support the Society's purpose of delivering good outcomes for members.
