At Taxmo, we're building software that helps freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses spend less time on administration and more time doing the work they actually enjoy.

From bookkeeping and VAT returns to invoicing and tax support, our goal is simple: make accounting straightforward, accessible, and less stressful. We believe financial software should feel like a helpful teammate, not another obstacle.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Marketing & Research Intern to join our team.

This isn't an internship where you'll spend months making presentations or sitting in meetings. You'll work on real projects that help us understand our market, improve our marketing, and reach more customers. You'll research competitors, identify new opportunities, help us build partnerships, contribute to content and campaigns, and support the day-to-day marketing efforts that keep a startup moving.

Because we're a small team, you'll get exposure to many different parts of marketing. One day you might be researching how accountants position their services, the next you could be helping plan a product launch, finding communities where our audience spends time, or analysing why one campaign performed better than another. We value curiosity, initiative, and people who enjoy figuring things out.

If you like asking questions, digging into research, spotting trends, and turning ideas into action, you'll probably enjoy working with us.

What you'll be doing

• Researching markets, competitors, and industry trends
• Identifying new customer segments and partnership opportunities
• Finding relevant communities, events, creators, and organisations
• Supporting our LinkedIn strategy and helping grow our online presence
• Assisting with content planning and campaign execution
• Helping with outreach to potential partners and customers
• Supporting website updates and marketing materials
• Analysing marketing performance and organising research into actionable insights
• Brainstorming new growth ideas with the team
• Taking ownership of smaller projects from research to execution

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who's excited to learn and enjoys solving problems.

You'll likely be a good fit if you:

• Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Marketing, Business, Communications, Media, Economics, or a related field
• Have excellent written English
• Enjoy research and know how to find reliable information
• Are organised and detail-oriented
• Like working independently and taking initiative
• Are interested in startups, entrepreneurship, fintech, SaaS, or B2B marketing
• Enjoy learning new tools and trying new ideas
• Have experience with LinkedIn or digital marketing (nice to have, but not essential)

Requirements

To apply, you must:

• Be enrolled in a university programme that requires a mandatory internship and can provide an official internship agreement (placement contract)
• Have the legal right to work in the European Union (EU citizenship or another valid work authorisation)
• Candidate must live in the Netherlands during the internship period.
