Are you looking for an awesome place to work, where you can proudly be your authentic self, and be part of #oneteam?

We are looking for a passionate team player who aligns with our values and culture, takes pride in their unique contributions, and can challenge the status quo with disruptive thinking. If this sounds like you, come and join us!

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Marketing Automation Lead to drive the evolution of our customer lifecycle marketing capability across our consumer brands, Dodo and iPrimus based in our Melbourne office.

This is a highly visible leadership role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on technical expertise. You'll own the marketing automation ecosystem, lead a team of specialists, and help shape personalised customer experiences that drive acquisition, engagement, retention and customer lifetime value.

If you're passionate about customer journeys, marketing technology, data-driven decision making and building scalable automation solutions, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Responsible for

As the Marketing Automation Lead, you'll be responsible for the technical design, implementation and optimisation of automated customer communications across multiple channels. You'll work closely with Lifecycle Communications, Product, Digital, Data, Analytics and Technology teams to deliver sophisticated lifecycle programs that improve customer outcomes and commercial performance.

You'll also play a key role in advancing Vocus' broader Martech capability, ensuring platforms, processes and people are set up for long-term success.

Lead Customer Lifecycle Automation

  • Design and deliver automated customer journeys across acquisition, onboarding, engagement, cross-sell, upsell, retention and win-back programs.
  • Build and optimise multi-channel lifecycle communications across email, SMS, push notifications, in-app messaging and other owned channels.
  • Develop scalable frameworks, governance standards and delivery processes that improve speed, consistency and quality.
  • Drive personalisation, segmentation and testing strategies that improve customer engagement and commercial performance.
  • Translate business requirements into audience logic, journey designs, decisioning rules and activation requirements.

Own and Evolve Martech Capability

  • Own and optimise our marketing automation platform - Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Partner with Technology, Data and Analytics teams to improve platform integrations, customer data flows and activation capability.
  • Support the evolution of audience structures, segmentation frameworks and customer data models.
  • Contribute to the broader Martech roadmap, including automation, AI-enabled workflows and customer engagement technologies.
  • Ensure campaigns are built with robust measurement, tracking and reporting capability.

Drive Commercial Outcomes

  • Establish test-and-learn frameworks that generate measurable improvements in customer experience and business performance.
  • Partner with Analytics teams to uncover insights and identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Translate customer and behavioural data into actionable recommendations that improve targeting and conversion.
  • Manage key vendor and platform relationships to deliver maximum value and business impact.

Lead a High-Performing Team

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to a team of Marketing Automation Specialists.
  • Set standards for campaign execution, governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritise workload across multiple initiatives while balancing business demand and team capacity.
  • Build automation capability across the team and champion best practice in lifecycle marketing.

What Success Looks Like

  • Seamless, personalised customer journeys across the customer lifecycle.
  • Increased engagement, retention and customer lifetime value.
  • Improved operational efficiency through automation and standardisation.
  • Strong partnership across Marketing, Product, Digital, Data and Technology teams.
  • A highly capable and engaged marketing automation team.

What you’ll bring to the role

You're a technically strong marketing automation professional with experience leading sophisticated lifecycle programs and teams within complex customer environments.

  • Proven experience leading lifecycle marketing, CRM and marketing automation programs.
  • Strong expertise in platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Adobe Campaign, HubSpot or similar.
  • Deep understanding of Martech ecosystems including CRM, CDP, Customer Value Management, analytics and personalisation technologies.
  • Experience designing and delivering customer journeys, segmentation strategies and trigger-based communications.
  • Strong understanding of customer data, audience segmentation, APIs, event-driven architecture and platform integrations.
  • Hands-on capability with SQL and experience working with HTML, CSS, scripting or related technologies.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve workflow efficiency, campaign execution, reporting and optimisation.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to use insights and experimentation to improve business outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.

Highly Regarded

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud expertise.
  • Experience working within telecommunications, subscription, digital or customer-centric businesses.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Technology, Data, Business or related disciplines.
