DAMA Portugal–Lisbon Chapter is a non-profit association dedicated to advancing knowledge, education, and best practices in Data Management and Data Governance.

Our mission is to support and empower data professionals by fostering knowledge sharing, professional development, and networking opportunities in Portugal and internationally.

As part of DAMA International, our chapter is connected to a global network of more than 50 chapters across multiple countries and regions. This affiliation provides access to international expertise, shared resources, and a community committed to advancing the data management profession.

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Marketing & Communication Operations Lead to strengthen our marketing & communication activities, increase community engagement, and support the growth and visibility of DAMA Portugal.

𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘

We are looking for a proactive Marketing & Communication Operations Lead to strengthen our visibility, engage our community, and promote our initiatives.

Working closely with the Chapter Board, you will coordinate communication activities, manage digital channels, and help grow our community.

𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦

• Contribute to the development and execution of the chapter's marketing and communication plan.

• Create engaging content in European Portuguese and English.

• Ensure consistent messaging, tone of voice, and brand identity across communication channels.

• Coordinate our website, social media, and email communications.

• Promote events, educational programmes, CDMP certification, and membership.

• Engage with members, partners, and the wider data community.

• Monitor engagement and identify opportunities to improve our reach.

• Collaborate with the Board and other volunteers.

• Encourage a collaborative, inclusive, and sustainable approach to community engagement.

What we are looking for

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• Ability to create clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate content in both European Portuguese and English.

• Interest in marketing, digital communication, and community building.

• Experience in content creation or digital marketing is an advantage.

• Interest in Data Management.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate remotely.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲

• Experience in marketing communications, content creation, campaign planning, or brand management.

• Familiarity with digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and website content management.

• Knowledge of Data Management, Data Governance, data-related technologies, or the broader data ecosystem.

• Experience in non-profit organisations, volunteering, professional associations, or community initiatives.

• Experience coordinating projects or collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

• A degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 & 𝗪𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚

This is a flexible, part-time volunteer role designed to fit alongside professional and personal commitments.

• Board meetings: Approximately two hours per month.

• Marketing and communication activities: Around one hour per week.

• Planning and priorities: Objectives and deliverables will be agreed collaboratively with the Board, taking into account available time and resources.

The role offers considerable autonomy in organising your work and choosing how to deliver agreed objectives. The focus is on meaningful contributions, sustainable collaboration, and measurable progress rather than a fixed working schedule.
