Marketing Director Feminine Care Category North America

About the Role

The Marketing Director for Feminine Care in the North America region drives category growth, brand equity, and market performance across the US and Canada. Working closely with the Global Categories Teams, this role translates global strategies into regionally relevant plans while ensuring commercial excellence and local consumer connection.

This position is based in our office in Philadelphia, PA.

The role will lead the integration and transformation of the recently acquired feminine care portfolio within Essity’s marketing organization, combining the strength and heritage of the acquired brands with Essity’s brand-building, consumer insight, innovation, digital, media and commercial capabilities.

This is both a business growth leadership role and a marketing transformation role. Success requires preserving the value and consumer trust of the acquired portfolio while progressively creating a modern, integrated, and future-ready Feminine Care business.

What You Will Do

1. Regional Strategy & Business Leadership

  • Define the feminine care category strategy for North America in alignment with global brand direction and regional business priorities.
  • Lead annual brand and category planning, market sizing, growth mapping, and regional portfolio prioritization.
  • Own the North America category performance, including market share, revenue, profitability, and brand health.

2. Portfolio & Assortment Management

  • Adapt and refine the global product portfolio to meet North America market needs, regulatory requirements, and retailer expectations.
  • Identify assortment gaps and propose region-specific innovations or value-engineering solutions when required.

3. Marketing Initiatives & Campaign Activation

  • Localize global marketing campaigns to ensure cultural relevance, regulatory compliance, and impactful execution across markets.
  • Develop and deploy region-specific brand-building initiatives where global assets do not fully meet local needs.
  • Partner with media, digital, and consumer engagement teams to deliver integrated marketing plans across channels (digital, retail, social, PR).

4. Consumer & Market Insights

  • Leverage regional consumer insights, market trends, competitive intelligence, and retailer feedback to influence global strategy and shape regional plans.
  • Identify unmet consumer needs and emerging trends to guide product development and communication strategies.

5. Cross‑Functional & Global Collaboration

  • Act as the key interface between the Global Category Teams and the North America commercial unit.
  • Provide the voice of the region to category teams, ensuring North America needs are reflected in the global roadmap and innovation pipelines.
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning across countries while respecting local nuances.

6. Retail & Customer Marketing Alignment

  • Partner with Customer/Shopper Marketing and Sales teams to deliver compelling customer stories, sell‑in materials, and retail activation plans.
  • Support trade negotiations with category insights, assortment recommendations, and innovation rationale.

7. Performance Management & Budget Ownership

  • Track and optimize brand performance, campaign ROI, and activity KPIs across markets.
  • Manage North America marketing budgets, ensuring strong governance and efficient spend allocation.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with leadership teams.

Who You Are

  • Significant senior marketing leadership experience within FMCG, personal care, consumer health or another consumer-driven category.
  • Strong track record of delivering profitable, above-market growth and market share gains in a highly competitive environment.
  • Experience leading a multi-brand portfolio with responsibility for strategy, innovation, brand equity and commercial performance.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating an acquired business, transforming a marketing organization or leading a major portfolio transition.
  • Proven success in brand architecture, brand migration, repositioning or portfolio renovation.
  • Deep understanding of the United States market, ideally complemented by experience in Canada.
  • Experience engaging major North American retailers and working closely with Sales, Customer Marketing and Revenue Growth Management.
  • Strong leadership experience, including leading teams through uncertainty, organizational change and new ways of working.
  • Experience working across global, regional and local teams in a complex matrix organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration or a related discipline. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
