Scope of Position
The Marketing Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating strategic marketing, product, and cross-functional initiatives from planning through implementation. Acting as a central point of integration across business units, the incumbent ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities by managing timelines, dependencies, stakeholder engagement, risks, and governance activities.
This role partners closely with Marketing, Product, Communications, Digital, Retail, Community Impact, and business leaders to drive alignment, facilitate decision-making, and support successful execution of initiatives that enhance member experiences, support business growth, and advance organizational objectives.
Major Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead planning and coordination of strategic product, marketing and cross-functional initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, workback schedules, milestones and implementation roadmaps.
- Monitor scope, timelines, deliverables, dependencies and decisions.
- Coordinate implementation activities and support successful execution.
Stakeholder Alignment
- Act as a central coordination point across Product, Marketing, Communications, Digital, Distribution, Community Impact and other business teams.
- Build working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, from frontline/branch teams to senior leaders.
- Facilitate alignment on objectives, timing, responsibilities, decisions and next steps.
- Identify and resolve stakeholder concerns and escalate issues requiring leadership support.
Governance, Risk & Reporting
- Establish project governance routines, meetings and documentation.
- Track risks, issues, decisions, assumptions and dependencies.
- Prepare executive-level project updates, dashboards and summaries.
- Support leadership decision-making through clear reporting and recommendations.
Change & Implementation Support
- Support readiness planning and business transition activities.
- Coordinate project communications and implementation requirements.
- Help ensure successful handoffs from project delivery to operational ownership.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
- Support organizational initiatives, events, presentations, workshops and cross-functional activities as required.
- Participate in member education, financial literacy presentations and stakeholder engagement activities where appropriate and aligned to business needs.
- Responsibilities may evolve over time to support changing business, operational and organizational priorities.
Qualifications
- Postsecondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications, Project Management or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years experience in project management, PMO, marketing operations, product delivery or related roles.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives in complex stakeholder environments.
- Financial services experience is considered an asset.
Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, including project planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder management.
- Knowledge of marketing principles, campaign execution, product launches, and integrated communications.
- Understanding of change management, implementation planning, and business readiness practices
- Strong project planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
- Strong facilitation and coordination skills with the ability to bring diverse groups together to achieve common objectives.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to identify risks, dependencies, and issues proactively and develop mitigation strategies.
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining focus on broader business objectives and outcomes.
- Ability to prepare concise executive-level reports, summaries, and recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
