About Sycomp

Sycomp is a global IT services and logistics provider, delivering complex technology solutions to enterprise customers worldwide. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, we support clients across more than 150 countries through our global integration centers, logistics networks, and engineering expertise.

Our teams work at the intersection of IT infrastructure, supply chain, and services, helping organizations deploy and manage technology seamlessly across global environments. We are known for taking on complex challenges and delivering reliable, scalable solutions that support our customers’ critical operations.

At Sycomp, you will be part of a collaborative, globally distributed team where operational excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement are at the core of what we do.

About the Role

We are seeking a Master Data Management Lead to join our Master Data Lifecycle Management team. This is a newly created, high-impact role designed to improve data governance, accuracy, operational efficiency, and standardization across the business.

You will partner closely with Supply Chain, IT, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure consistency across item, customer, and supplier master data. This role will serve as a key bridge between business stakeholders and systems, driving alignment, governance, and long-term data quality improvements.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in addressing ongoing challenges related to data quality, duplication, product categorization, governance, and downstream reporting while helping establish scalable processes and standards across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end master data creation, maintenance, and governance for item, customer, and supplier records across key systems such as Oracle and Salesforce
  • Establish and maintain master data standards, governance processes, naming conventions, and business rules
  • Drive improvements in data quality, consistency, completeness, and accuracy across business systems
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve master data intake, approval, and maintenance workflows
  • Conduct regular audits to identify duplicate, obsolete, incomplete, or inconsistent data and lead remediation initiatives
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for master data processes, governance, and best practices across the organization
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, resolve data issues, and improve data standards
  • Develop and maintain documentation including governance policies, process maps, data dictionaries, and operating procedures
  • Build and maintain reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and data quality metrics to monitor performance and support decision-making
  • Identify and lead automation and process improvement opportunities within the master data lifecycle
  • Support data migration, integration, and system enhancement initiatives
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to business users on master data processes and governance standards

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Supply Chain, IT, Engineering, Finance, or a similar environment
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Master Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Analyst role
  • Hands-on experience managing customer, supplier, vendor, item, product, or material master data
  • Experience driving data quality, governance, standardization, or process improvement initiatives
  • Experience working in multi-system environments, ideally with ERP and CRM platforms such as Oracle, Salesforce, or SAP
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and master data best practices
  • Proven experience collaborating with stakeholders across multiple business functions
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to influence decisions and drive improvements without direct authority
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, integrity, and process consistency
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SAP MDG, Oracle, Salesforce, or other MDM platforms
  • Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI or similar tools
  • Experience supporting data migration, ERP implementations, or system integrations
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks, stewardship models, and audit processes
  • Exposure to automation initiatives and workflow optimization projects
  • Experience within IT services, technology, logistics, supply chain, distribution, or global operations environments
  • Familiarity with data quality KPIs and master data governance metrics
