About this Position

As a Material Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials required to meet production and customer demand. You will be responsible for translating production forecasts into effective material plans, balancing inventory, cost, and service level objectives while collaborating closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Suppliers. This role requires strong analytical skills, proactive risk management, and the ability to optimize material availability in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced supply chain setting and is passionate about driving operational excellence through planning accuracy and continuous improvement.

What you´ll do

  • Translate production plans into mid- and long-term Material Requirements Plans (MRP) to ensure material availability based on demand forecasts.
  • Maintain and optimize MRP parameters, monitor exceptions, and align material plans with production schedules.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to support capacity planning and ensure timely material availability.
  • Analyze inventory levels, replenishment policies, slow-moving inventory, and obsolete materials to optimize stock and cost performance.
  • Manage material ordering processes, ensuring the right quantities are ordered at the right time while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.
  • Identify and escalate supply risks, shortages, and opportunities to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing material planning processes, inventory performance, and supply chain efficiency.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience in material planning within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP, inventory control, procurement, and supplier management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret demand, inventory, and operational data.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working with Production, Procurement, Logistics, and Suppliers.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on service, cost, and inventory optimization.
