Role Description The Mathematics Teacher at Mathwhiz Academy is a full-time remote role responsible for teaching online math classes to students in Grades 9–11, with a focus on CSEC Mathematics preparation. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering live virtual lessons, creating engaging instructional materials, and aligning teaching with the CSEC curriculum and academic standards. The teacher will assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, and exams, provide timely feedback, and offer additional support where needed. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records of student progress, collaborating with the academic team to refine curriculum and teaching strategies, and using digital tools to enhance learning and classroom interaction. The role requires consistent communication with learners and guardians to support student success and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Mathematics and experience teaching secondary-level math, ideally including CSEC Mathematics.
• Background in Mathematics Education or a related field, with knowledge of pedagogy and learner-centered instruction.
• Demonstrated skills in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development, including designing structured, outcomes-based lessons.
• Status as a Qualified Teacher with relevant certification or licensure, or equivalent teaching experience.
• Experience teaching in an online or blended learning environment and effective use of digital classroom tools.
• Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in accessible ways.
• Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related discipline (advanced degree is an asset).
• Ability to work full time in a remote setting, demonstrating reliability, organization, and time management.
