The senior team has an average of 30 years of investment experience including prior leadership experience at Blackstone / GSO, Fortress, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, J.P. Morgan and Merrill Lynch. Position Description Originate and lead the underwriting and execution of private credit investments, including senior, unitranche, and structured capital solutions, in predominantly U.S.-based businesses with $5 to $50 million of EBITDA. Focus on structuring investments to optimize risk-adjusted returns, with an emphasis on downside protection, credit quality, and cash flow durability. Lead negotiation of definitive credit documentation, including credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, and related financing documents. Add value to broader firm initiatives, contributing to the continued buildout of Star Mountain’s credit platform and investment capabilities. Cultivate and broaden relationships with deal flow origination sources, financial sponsors, and prospective limited partners. Conduct ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies, including identifying and managing credit risks, anticipating/documenting credit events, and proactively working with borrowers on performance and liquidity needs. Collaborate with portfolio companies and sponsors to support refinancings, amendments, and other capital solutions. Assist with junior team recruiting, training, and development. Required Qualifications 12+ years of relevant experience in private credit, direct lending, or cash-flow based lending to U.S. middle market companies ($5–$50 million EBITDA). Demonstrated experience originating and leading the underwriting and execution of leveraged finance transactions. Strong quantitative and credit analysis skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proven ability to take responsibility for transaction underwriting, portfolio management, and credit outcomes. Experience negotiating loan agreements, intercreditor agreements, and related credit documentation. Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset. Willingness to travel nationwide for origination, diligence, and portfolio-related activities. Timing: Immediate. Location: Remote Compensation The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and performance during the selection process.
