  • Clerk Grade 7/8
  • Package up to $145,031 pa. Package includes salary range ($116,981 pa to $129,492 pa), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Located in Alexandria (close to Green Square Station)

About the role:

In this pivotal role, you’ll be the driving force behind proactive and responsive media engagement. You’ll manage media enquiries, craft clear and timely media responses, develop media releases and ministerial announcements, and coordinate media campaigns that strengthen public understanding and trust. You will also play a key role in media issues management and maintain strong relationships with Ministerial Offices. Your work will directly support community awareness and safety—ensuring critical information reaches the people who need it, when they need it most.

About you:

  • Ideally, you bring strong experience from the news media sector or an emergency services public affairs environment.
  • You are motivated by purpose and community. You value integrity, accountability, and service, and you take pride in supporting work that directly contributes to community safety.

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in media/communications or equivalent relevant experience
  • Flexibility and readiness to work outside standard hours, including weekends and public holidays, particularly during major incidents or emergency responses.
  • Be available to work between the spread of hours 7 am to 7 pm
