This position will operate in a hybrid work environment, 3 days per week in the office (Philadelphia, PA).
OVERVIEW:
The Media Production Manager is responsible for the strategy, operation, and success of the firm’s in-house studio and video and digital media production efforts. This role combines hands-on production expertise with strong project management, stakeholder partnership, and creative thinking to deliver high-quality content that supports the firm’s brand, business priorities, and audience engagement goals.
Serving as the primary owner of the studio and its capabilities, this individual will manage the full production lifecycle—from concept development and planning through recording, editing, streaming, distribution, and ongoing optimization. The Media Production Manager will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand their objectives, translate ideas into effective content, and provide guidance on the best formats and approaches to reach intended audiences.
The successful candidate will bring both technical expertise and a forward-looking mindset, continually exploring new ways to use video, digital media, technology, and the studio environment to enhance how the firm communicates and engages with clients, prospects, financial professionals, employees, and other key audiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Studio & Production Management
- Own the day-to-day operation, management, and overall success of the firm’s in-house production studio and related media capabilities.
- Develop a thorough understanding of studio equipment, technology, software, workflows, and production capabilities and ensure they are effectively maintained and utilized.
- Facilitate and support studio and on-location recordings, including camera, lighting, audio, teleprompter, staging, and other production requirements.
- Manage live and recorded virtual events, webcasts, livestreams, interviews, presentations, podcasts, and other multimedia productions.
- Edit and produce polished video and digital content, incorporating graphics, audio, music, animation, captions, branding, and other production elements as appropriate.
- Establish and maintain efficient production processes, standards, documentation, asset management, and scheduling practices.
- Manage relationships with external production partners, freelancers, technology providers, and other vendors when additional capabilities or resources are required.
- Maintain awareness of evolving production technologies and recommend investments or enhancements that improve the studio's capabilities, efficiency, and output.
Project Ownership & Stakeholder Partnership
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives and audiences and recommend the appropriate format, production approach, and distribution strategy.
- Provide creative and production guidance that helps stakeholders translate ideas and subject-matter expertise into engaging, audience-appropriate content.
- Coordinate participants, schedules, scripts, creative assets, production logistics, reviews, approvals, and final deliverables.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, meeting deadlines, and communicating proactively with stakeholders.
- Create a positive, professional studio experience, helping participants feel prepared and comfortable throughout the production process.
Innovation, Content & Audience Engagement
- Think beyond individual production requests to identify new ways video and digital media can support the firm's broader marketing, communications, and business objectives.
- Stay informed about emerging media formats, production techniques, digital platforms, artificial intelligence, and technologies that could enhance content creation, efficiency, reach, or engagement.
- Balance creativity and experimentation with the standards expected of a highly regulated financial services organization.
Studio & Media Strategy
- Take accountability for the overall quality, effectiveness, and continued evolution of the firm's studio and video/digital media capabilities.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for enhancing studio capabilities, production processes, programming, and technology.
- Establish measures of success for studio utilization, production output, audience engagement, operational efficiency, and other relevant objectives.
- Identify opportunities to increase the value and utilization of the studio across the organization.
- Ensure video and digital media consistently reflect the firm's brand standards and quality expectations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in video production, multimedia production, studio management, broadcasting, digital media, or a related discipline
- Hands-on knowledge of cameras, lighting, audio, editing software, streaming technology, and studio production workflows
- Experience managing projects and productions from concept through completion
- Strong editing and post-production capabilities and an understanding of how production decisions affect the final audience experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with executives, subject-matter experts, marketers, and other stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- News organization uplink service negotiation, setup, and maintenance
- Dante Certification Level 3
- NDI and Performance Media Networking
- Newtek Tricaster Control Surface and Applications
- Cisco WebEx, Control Hub & RoomOS experience
- Command of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and proficiency with various electronic tools and systems to fulfill daily responsibilities, scheduling, and document management
- Experience with CRM such as Salesforce a plus. Ability to learn and explore new technology
