Role Description This is a full-time remote role for Spanish–English Medical Interpreters, providing services via Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI). Day-to-day responsibilities include accurately interpreting medical information between Spanish- and English-speaking patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring clarity, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity. The role involves managing calls and video sessions, following medical and ethical standards, and maintaining detailed and accurate communication in fast-paced clinical environments. Interpreters may also support documentation by conveying written information when needed, adhering to company protocols and client-specific guidelines. Collaboration with supervisors and support teams, participation in web-based trainings, and consistent adherence to quality standards are expected.
Qualifications

• Strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Interpreting for Spanish–English clinical encounters.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and ability to convey complex health information accurately and neutrally.
• Experience or training in Simultaneous Interpretation and consecutive interpreting in healthcare settings.
• Competence in Translation of short medical-related documents or patient information, when required.
• Fluency in both spoken and written Spanish and English, with clear, professional communication style.
• Prior experience as a medical interpreter (OPI and/or VRI) or relevant healthcare communication background.
• Familiarity with interpretation ethics, confidentiality requirements, and HIPAA or similar privacy regulations.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection, suitable remote workspace, and comfort using cloud-based systems and video platforms.
• Relevant certification in medical interpreting or completion of a recognized interpreter training program is preferred.
• Ability to work full-time in rotating schedules, maintain composure under pressure, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity and professionalism.
