About OpenHealth

OpenHealth is a fast-scaling healthtech venture building the data infrastructure layer for health AI, the "Palantir for health data." We harmonize fragmented health data, from diagnostic lab results to medical imaging, into clean, interoperable standards (HL7 FHIR, LOINC, SNOMED CT, DICOM) that hospitals, diagnostic groups, insurers, and governments can actually build on.

Today we operate across roughly 10 countries in Europe and Latin America, working with partners like Roche and leading diagnostic and hospital networks, backed by $4M+ in venture capital from leading European health and tech VCs.

Health data is the foundation everything else in health AI depends on, and right now it's a mess. We're the ones cleaning it up and making it usable, at scale, under real regulatory conditions.

Remote, full time, fluent English.
  • Preference Europe (DACH, Spain, Portugal), Latin America. Real overlap with CET needed (>=4h).
  • Openhealth harmonises lab, imaging and clinical documents into structured, coded medical data and provides output like digitalized reports, a wallet for the patient and doctor, and a population intelligence and operations layer for providers, insurers and health authorities.
  • In production with large lab groups, hospital networks and insurers on three continents, reaching millions of patients - we actually do ship digitalisation value to stakeholders.

Your role:
  • Own product modules end to end, from the first concept until it is live and correct. Care pathways, pharmacogenetics and a lot more are coming. Our modules share an abstract grammar, so you think in concepts and not in features — you should be comfortable with the term ontology.
  • Own the edge cases and the medical correctness - as we work in an area where trust is everything, edge cases always have to be thought through. You are the one who can defend the number in front of a patient or a payer.
  • Work with LLMs and with data properly. Building agents and tooling for mapping, review, QA and documentation, not just pasting into ChatGPT. Same for data: you can pull a dataset, analyse it yourself and notice when something is off.
  • Turn vague into buildable - specify so that engineering can build it and sales can sell it. That includes holding your own talk with engineers: no coding needed, but you understand data models, APIs and what is cheap or expensive to build (and/or learn it).
  • Daily tasks include also - mapping(s)(reviews), general reviews, test cases, going through a report or a feature end to end before it ships.

Your background:
  • Medical or life science degree — medicine, pharmacy, biomedical science, biology, bio-informatics.
  • Academically strong. You can read and understand scientific literature.
  • Interest in data, and how to use it - words like JSON, data models, statistics should be common to you.
  • Roughly 3 to 5 years of work experience and hungry typical startup job, scope is large from the start and grows fast.
  • Product management experience is a plus, not a must - having worked with tech / engineer big plus.
  • You want to own things.
  • Perfect English.
  • Plus: having heard / worked with LOINC / HL7 / FHIR / SNOMED, startup experience, commercial sense, Portuguese, Spanish or German, MDR / GDPR / LGPD.

How we work:
  • Flat hierarchy, small team. You report directly to the CPO / CMedO.
  • Fully remote, the team sits across Europe and Latin America.
  • Communication is key. In a distributed team it matters more than anything else, and we expect you to be clear, reachable and direct. Most of it runs through tickets, concept documents and recordings and of course meetings (short and efficient).
  • Thin process, plenty of ambiguity, feedback in both directions.
  • Salary is competitive and we talk about it openly in the first call, together with the level.

Apply normally with CV and letter - try non-AI written.

Looking forward hearing from you! 🚀
