Medical Receptionist (Remote) Location: South Africa (Remote) Working Hours: 3:00 Pm – 3:00 AM SAST , Monday to Friday (6-hour shifts within these hours – exact shift to be confirmed) About the Role We are looking for a professional and compassionate After-Hours Medical Receptionist to join a busy US-based cosmetic and medical practice. You will be the first point of contact for patients calling outside of normal business hours, ensuring every caller receives exceptional customer service and prompt assistance. This role is ideal for someone with previous medical reception, patient scheduling, or call centre experience who is confident handling high call volumes in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming patient calls in a professional and friendly manner. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Respond to patient enquiries and direct calls appropriately. Take accurate messages and escalate urgent matters when necessary. Update patient information in the practice management system. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines. Deliver an outstanding patient experience on every call. Requirements Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Medical Administrator, Patient Coordinator, Intake Specialist, or Healthcare Call Centre Agent . Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Strong customer service and telephone etiquette. Comfortable working independently in a remote environment. High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Experience using EMR/EHR systems or medical scheduling software is advantageous. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Technical Requirements Reliable laptop or desktop computer. Stable fibre internet connection. Backup power solution (UPS or inverter). USB noise-cancelling headset. Quiet, professional home office.
