By providing patients and internal and external stakeholders with a consistent, efficient, and easy experience, you’ll help ensure that patients at The Oregon Clinic Gastroenterology South Clinic receive the highest-value care tailored to their needs.
Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include:
- Prepare and organize patient charts in advance of provider appointments to ensure accurate and complete clinical information is available.
- Retrieve medical records and initiate requests for records from external healthcare organizations as needed.
- Review and summarize relevant patient information to support efficient provider review and patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations, privacy standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Send MyChart links and related patient communications as appropriate.
- Identify and report scheduling discrepancies or errors to the appropriate department or personnel for resolution.
- Review and update patient demographics and registration information as needed to maintain accurate patient records.
- Assist with additional medical records functions, departmental initiatives, and special projects as assigned.
Salary:
Hiring range, based on experience and credentials:
- Level I: $19.79 -$26.77 per hour.
- Level II: $21.77 -$29.45 per hour.
- Level III: $23.94 -$32.39 per hour.
Workdays: This role is located at the Providence Willamette Falls Medical Plaza II Lower Level. Hybrid/Remote work is available once training is completed and performance expectations are met. Must live in Oregon City, Portland, or SW Washington. Typical hours are Monday-Friday (7:00 am - 4:00 pm).
Qualifications that support success in this role are based on education, experience and values including:
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience, preferably in a medical office. Specialty care GI experience is a plus!
- Previous experience with electronic medical records or ability to learn new programs required.
- Previous medical office experience preferred, and ability to recognize common medical records documents.
- Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred. Epic experience is a plus!
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records policies and procedures, and understanding compliance with all applicable safety/OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
- Excellent attendance and work ethic.
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
- A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.
