Medical Records Specialist
This role supports both medical records and billing processes for our Chronic Care Management (CCM) and healthcare programs. You’ll work closely with our care team to help ensure patient records are accurate, complete, organized, and ready to support billing and reimbursement.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic patient medical records
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Identify missing or inconsistent information and work with team members to resolve it
- Review patient records for billing readiness and required supporting documentation
- Assist with tracking outstanding documentation and billing-related items
- Maintain and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Process medical record requests according to established procedures
- Work with Care Team Coordinators, providers, and other team members to resolve documentation or billing discrepancies
- Assist with internal documentation and quality audits
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential patient information
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and assigned tasks
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is organized, accurate, comfortable working independently, and able to manage detailed information and deadlines.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in medical records, medical billing, healthcare administration, or a related healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation practices
- Familiarity with EHR/EMR or other healthcare documentation systems
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing or inconsistent information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working with computers and electronic documentation systems

Pay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour
Employment: Full-Time, Hourly
Reports To: Clinical Operations Manager
Environment: Remote
