Secura Bio was established in 2019 with a singular mission: to close the gap between innovative oncology therapies and the patients who need them most. Our high-touch approach is informed by our decades of experience shaping the impact of oncology’s largest clinical and market opportunities. We know that true impact comes from personalization and an unwavering commitment to serve patients and expand the possibilities of life-prolonging oncology medicines. About the Role Secura Bio is looking for an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the Mid-West Region that will serve as a key scientific resource and strategic partner within our medical affairs team as well as cross functionally with clinical development and our marketing and sales colleagues in their region to provide clinical and scientific product education to their Health Care Providers. The MSL will focus on building and maintaining relationships with academic and community clinicians, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and research institutions in the Hematology /Oncology space, specifically rare lymphomas in support of the Medical Affairs goals and objectives. This field-based position requires a deep understanding of oncology therapeutics and the ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively to various stakeholders. Because Secura Bio operates with the urgency and innovation of a small, focused oncology company, we are looking for a self-directed, proactive, and highly adaptable MSL who can work independently, think creatively, communicate complex science clearly, and move quickly to deliver medical impact where it matters most. Employment Type Full-time Reports To Executive Director, Medical Affairs Key Responsibilities Identify, cultivate, and sustain high value relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals across the territory. Communicate scientific data, research concepts, and educational content that elevate understanding of Secura Bio’s products and therapeutic focus. Demonstrate strong ownership of the territory by setting clear medical priorities, anticipating needs, and driving aligned activities that support Secura Bio’s broader Medical Affairs objectives. Deliver balanced, scientifically rigorous information about Secura Bio’s pipeline and marketed products to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and clinical relevance. Gather, synthesize, and communicate actionable insights from the field that inform medical strategy, clinical development, and cross functional decision making. Serve as a trusted scientific resource during Medical Congresses, Advisory Boards, training programs, mentorship activities, and strategic planning meetings. Collaborate closely with Clinical Development and Operations to support sponsored research initiatives, including site identification and evaluation, recruitment support, investigator engagement, external expert identification, and management of scientific collaborations. Facilitate the submission and review of investigator-initiated research proposals, maintain communication with investigators, and support Secura Bio sponsored research activities. Partner with Market Development Managers and Key Account Managers to provide scientific education, customer support, and territory planning that aligns medical objectives with broader business goals, as appropriate. Contribute to regional and national Medical Affairs strategies through territory medical planning, post congress insight generation, and proactive identification of emerging scientific trends. Operate with a team-oriented mindset, demonstrating innovation, adaptability, and agility in response to the evolving scientific landscape and shifting company priorities. Rapidly adopt and leverage new digital technologies and resources to enhance scientific exchange, insight capture, and field effectiveness. Required Qualifications Advanced degree is strongly preferred (PharmD, PhD, MD). Candidates with MBA/MSc require 5+ years of relevant experience; BA/BSc candidates require 8+ years of experience. Clinically licensed professionals (NP, PA, RN) may be considered with substantial oncology or Medical Affairs experience. Minimum of 3 years in Medical Affairs, field medical, pharmaceutical, or biotech roles, demonstrating maturity in scientific exchange and territory leadership. Strong subject matter expertise in oncology or hematology, including experience supporting product launches, understanding treatment paradigms, clinical pathways, and emerging research trends. Background in hematologic malignancies, especially lymphoma, preferred. Deep understanding of cancer biology, mechanisms of action, and therapeutic modalities relevant to rare lymphomas. Exceptional ability to communicate complex scientific information to oncologists, researchers, and multidisciplinary stakeholders. Proven capability to deliver scientific presentations to audiences of varying sizes with clarity and confidence. Ability to analyze complex clinical trial data and translate findings into clinically meaningful insights. Demonstrated experience engaging and building trust with key opinion leaders in oncology. Understanding drug development, regulatory pathways, and how field insights shape clinical strategy. Knowledge of oncology practice patterns, care delivery models, and healthcare system dynamics. Ability to identify clinical research opportunities, evaluate investigator potential, and support collaborative scientific initiatives. Strong strategic thinking to ensure scientific communications and field activities align with Secura Bio’s medical objectives. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in clinical development, clinical operations, commercial and Medical Affairs. Self-starter with the ability to work independently, operate with urgency, and deliver results that drive meaningful medical impact. Adaptability to evolving scientific data, shifting priorities, and the fast-paced environment of a small oncology company. Familiarity with pharmaceutical and biotech compliance guidelines governing scientific exchange and field medical activities. Preferred Qualifications Flexibility to travel 60-80% of the time. Attendance at major oncology conferences such as ASCO, ASH, and SOHO, as well as regional conferences. Must reside within IL, ND, SD, NE, MO, IA, or WI, with preference for major metropolitan areas in IL, MN, or MO.
