Best Workplace. For more information, visit thehwpgroup.com . What You Need to Know We’re looking to add a Medical Writer to our Scientific & Medical Services team. The Medical Writer will work collaboratively with clients and internal stakeholders to develop and create a variety of high-quality scientific and medical deliverables. What You’ll Do The Medical Writer is accountable to the VP, Scientific/Medical Director, and assigned clients for the development and delivery of clear, scientifically accurate content. In addition, this role will: Research assigned topics, therapies, and disease states and develop scientifically accurate content for a variety of deliverables, including slide decks, scripts, newsletters, manuscripts, posters, and digital content Identify relevant scientific data sources and develop clear, well-organized, appropriately referenced content in accordance with client and project guidelines Maintain current knowledge of relevant therapies, disease states, scientific literature, and trends within assigned therapeutic areas Collaborate with editorial, creative, account, and scientific/medical teams to develop and finalize project deliverables Incorporate feedback from internal and external reviewers, including medical-legal review, and ensure content is accurate and consistent with project requirements Support the development of advisory board materials, surveys, and other scientific tools, and participate in advisory boards and related meetings as needed Conduct background research, including therapeutic-area research and identification of potential key opinion leaders (KOLs), to support client projects and new business opportunities Manage assigned projects within established timelines, scope, and budgets, escalating issues as appropriate Provide guidance and support to junior medical writing and research staff, as appropriate What You’ll Have Advanced degree (MD, PhD, MPH, MS, or PharmD preferred) with 1+ years of medical or scientific writing experience preferred Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality medical/scientific content and translate complex scientific information into clear, accurate, organized, and engaging materials for diverse audiences Experience in neurology, oncology, or cell and gene therapies preferred Experience working directly from clinical study reports (CSRs) or other primary data sources to develop slides and other deliverables Experience with manuscript and poster development and submission preferred Familiarity with Good Publication Practices and reference management software preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and familiarity with PubMed and other literature databases Strong data interpretation and evaluation skills, with the ability to work across therapeutic areas Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
