The Member and Stakeholder Advisory Specialist supports Alliance’s member advisory committees by coordinating meetings, educating and assisting members, families, and stakeholders, and helping ensure their voices are included in organizational planning and service improvement.
This role also serves as a liaison between members, community partners, and internal departments to support access to care, resolve concerns, maintain documentation, promote effective communication by delivering quality customer service, and advocating for the voice and inclusion of members and families.
The employee may also be required to come into the Alliance office closest to their home address on certain days and/or travel within the communities Alliance serves for community events and advisory group meetings as needed.
Responsibilities & Duties
Collaboration
- Build and maintain meaningful partnerships with internal Alliance Health departments, state and county government agencies, and community stakeholders to support and advance the work of Alliance Health’s Member Advisory Committees
- Collaborate across Alliance departments, particularly with Care Teams, to promote positive member experiences, improve health outcomes and access to care, and enhance overall quality of life
Customer Focus
- Serve as the primary liaison for the Consumer and Family Advisory Committee (CFAC), Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Innovations Waiver Committees by coordinating meetings, supporting committee operations, and maintaining knowledge of applicable bylaws, statutes, charters, and organizational goals
- Support and facilitate communication across advisory groups, especially elevating concerns or gaps in services to CFAC
- Provide technical and administrative support to advisory committees to ensure effective operations and engagement
- Educate and support members, families, and guardians and stakeholders by increasing awareness and understanding of policies, regulations, services, rights, responsibilities, and available resources through engagement and individualized assistance
- Identify and elevate concerns related to service quality, access to care, and member experiences to department leadership for review and resolution
- Contribute to departmental and organizational special projects as assigned
Education, Outreach, and Engagement
- Ensure outreach strategies and activities are intentionally designed and targeted to the unique needs of each of Alliance Health’s Member Advisory Committees
- Schedule presenters and speakers
- Develop, deliver, and distribute educational materials, resources, and trainings to committee members and community stakeholders, including orientation and education on new or existing programs and initiatives
- Stay informed on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, legislation, policies, community resources, support services, and professional development opportunities and events for Alliance Health’s Member Advisory Committees
Documentation
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with contractual and department policy and procedures
- Create, maintain, and distribute documentation related to advisory groups, including but not limited to charters, recruitment plans, member lists, meeting minutes, agendas, stipend requests, and correspondence
- Submit any reporting as required
Travel
- Travel regularly between Alliance offices, represent Alliance at meetings, and participate in community events related to the advisory groups
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in working in the behavioral health field directly with members and families.
A valid Drivers License is required.
Preferred:
- Proficient in MS Office and virtual platforms for conducting meetings.
- Prior experience in managed care, behavioral health, I/DD, TBI, LTSS, waiver services, or a related health and human services environment.
- Experience supporting advisory committees, boards, councils, stakeholder groups, or member/family workgroups.
- Experience coordinating and facilitating meetings.
- Experience engaging members, families, and community stakeholders; and tracking outreach, survey, or performance data.
- NCPSS or Family Partner experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) is required
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Conflict management and resolution skills
- Highly organized and
- Strong problem solving, negotiation, arbitration and conflict resolution skills are essential to balance the needs of both internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of Medicaid basic, enhanced MHSUD, and waiver benefits plans
- Detail oriented
- Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and maintain exceptional organization.
Employment for this position is contingent upon a satisfactory background and MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check, which will be performed after acceptance of an offer of employment and prior to the employee's start date.
Salary Range
$26.27 - $33.49/Hourly
Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity
