Member Development Executive

Department: Member Services

Location: London (Hybrid – minimum 3 days in office)

Contract: Permanent

About the Team

PPL’s Member Services team manages the enquiries of our membership across both performer and recording rightsholder categories. Our Member Services team is passionate about music and works to help ensure all our members’ accounts are up to date so they are able to collect the royalties they are owed when their recorded music is played on radio, TV, online and in public.

What you’ll be doing:

As a key member of PPL’s Member Development team, you will play a central role in identifying, engaging, and onboarding Performers and Recording Rightsholders (RRHs) ensuring they benefit fully from the services PPL provides. This is a highly relationship driven role that blends industry knowledge, strategic outreach, and hands on engagement across the wider music community.

You’ll work proactively to recruit emerging and high‑profile talent, build strong networks across the music industry, and represent PPL at events and showcases. You’ll also support the accurate registration of new members, maintain high‑quality data, and help drive initiatives that maximise member earnings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Business Development Operations Manager and Member Development Managers by delivering against agreed priorities, objectives, and service standards.
  • Contribute to recruitment plans targeting high‑profile and emerging Performers/RRHs to increase international mandates.
  • Build and maintain strong industry networks across managers, labels, solicitors, and accountants.
  • Represent PPL at gigs, showcases, and industry events, often outside standard office hours to build visibility and engagement.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of the music landscape, emerging genres, and wider industry developments.
  • Maintain accurate records of pipelines, opportunities, and activities in Salesforce to required quality standards.
  • Prepare monthly updates and maintain ongoing data to track progress and achievements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Business Development team and the wider Member Services team on initiatives to distribute held revenue.
  • Deliver high‑quality service to new members within agreed SLAs.
  • Attend UK-wide industry events, representing PPL professionally and contributing to panels, talks, and presentations.

About You

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who lives and breathes music, enjoys meeting people, and is passionate about connecting artists with the royalties they’re entitled to. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, outward‑facing role and enjoy shaping meaningful relationships, you’ll fit right in.

Key Requirements:

  • At least 12 months’ experience in a sales, customer service, or administrative role, demonstrating consistent success.
  • Strong computer literacy, including confident use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • High proficiency in database systems with fast, accurate data entry skills, ideally touch typing at 40 wpm or above.
  • Confident and comfortable speaking with large volumes of people, whether one‑to‑one, in groups, or when presenting.
  • Excellent networking skills, with the ability to build and nurture relationships across a wide range of industry contacts.
  • A polished and professional approach when representing the team and PPL, both internally and externally.
  • Music industry background is preferable.
  • A good understanding of the music industry, specifically on rights/copyright.
