About the Role
Join a clinical AI team building a compiler that turns healthcare standards into validated, executable decision logic. This research-focused engineering role combines model experimentation with production delivery, helping make clinical recommendations more traceable and reliable.
What You'll Do
Build pipelines that parse clinical standards and transform them into executable modules using document and layout models.
Design and refine the target syntax used to represent guideline logic.
Evaluate open and closed models, fine-tuning approaches, and constrained decoding strategies.
Develop datasets, benchmarks, metrics, and adversarial cases to assess clinical fidelity and correctness.
Analyze model failures, turn findings into experiments, and improve the production compiler.
Build deterministic validators using static analysis, constraint solving, or formal methods to surface ambiguity, contradictions, and missing source guidance.
Collaborate with clinicians and technical teammates to validate outputs and clarify exclusions, precedence, and recommendations.
What We're Looking For
At least 3 years of research or industry experience, or current status as a final-year PhD student or postdoctoral researcher.
Experience shipping ML or NLP systems to production, with production-level Python, PyTorch, and Transformers skills.
Hands-on experience with LLM evaluation, training, or prompt engineering, and experience working in a frontier AI lab.
A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, or a related technical field.
Experience with compilers, program synthesis, formal methods, static analysis, IR design, constraint solving, SAT/SMT, or domain-specific languages is valuable.
Healthcare, safety-critical, or regulated-domain experience is helpful. Clear written communication about failed experiments and uncertainty is important.
Must be authorized to work in the United States or Canada. The role includes in-person team offsites several times per year and requires comfort with ambiguity and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: USD $250,000 to $400,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Remote, with Canada as the primary location. Candidates may also work remotely from the United States.
