Show job description

Company Description Omkin is a mental health platform designed to reduce the distance between individuals and care that truly understands their cultural context. The organization connects licensed mental health therapists and counselors with non-clinical cultural coaches whose language, heritage, and lived experience align with those they support. Omkin rejects one-size-fits-all approaches and emphasizes that culture shapes how people experience grief, family dynamics, pressure, and success. Rather than reducing identity to simple tags, Omkin focuses on understanding the whole person and delivering care that is respectful, nuanced, and grounded in lived realities.

Role Description The Mental Health Lead is a full-time, remote role. This role is responsible for overseeing mental health services, coordinating care pathways, and ensuring high-quality, culturally informed support for clients. Day-to-day tasks include supervising and supporting mental health practitioners and cultural coaches, conducting assessments, managing complex cases, and guiding crisis response protocols when needed. The Mental Health Lead will collaborate with internal teams to refine care models, contribute to program design, and maintain ethical, evidence-informed practices. Additional responsibilities include documentation oversight, quality assurance, and fostering a safe, inclusive environment for both clients and staff.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health Care and Mental Health, including assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing support.
  • Strong grounding in Psychology, with the ability to integrate evidence-based approaches and culturally responsive practices.
  • Experience in Case Management, including coordination of services, follow-up, and collaborative care with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Crisis Intervention, with the ability to manage high-risk situations, de-escalate, and implement safety plans.
  • Relevant advanced degree in psychology, counselling, social work, or a related mental health field; appropriate licensure or eligibility is highly preferred.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in mental health settings, ideally within culturally diverse communities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust, maintain boundaries, and work collaboratively in an on-site environment.
  • Fluency in English.
