In this role, you will provide evidence-based therapy to children, adolescents, and adults.

Position Summary

As a valued member of our mental health care team, you will collaborate virtually with clinical leadership, psychiatrists and PMHNP to deliver coordinated, whole-person care that improves outcomes and expands access to behavioral health services. This position is available for a 1099 Independent contractor based on experience, licensure coverage, and organizational needs. Clinical services are delivered entirely via telehealth.

• Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
• Active independent clinical licensure in at least one of the following jurisdictions: Washington, DC, Maryland (MD), or Virginia (VA). Willing to get licensed in additional states preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience providing therapy to youth, adults, and individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges.
• Experience treating patients ages 13 and older.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Experience providing telehealth services.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with specialized populations or treatment areas such as trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, or grief and loss.
• Familiarity with Athena One EHR and electronic health record documentation standards.

Other Requirements

Assessment & Evaluation:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with client goals.

Therapeutic Interventions:

• Provide evidence-based individual and family therapy using modalities such as CBT and DBT.
• Deliver care virtually.

Monitoring & Documentation:

• Track client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment outcomes.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work collaboratively with primary care physicians, psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Communicate treatment plans, progress, and recommendations with clients, families, and stakeholders.

Crisis Intervention:

• Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress.
• Develop safety plans and strategies to prevent or mitigate crises.

Education & Support:

• Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.

Contract Commitment:

• Contracted commitment of approximately 10-15 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options available, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
• Expected to maintain a consistent patient volume commensurate with contracted hours and organizational access needs.
