HIRING: Electrical Engineer (MEP Design) | 100% Remote Design the Future of Building Systems From Anywhere We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a growing MEP consulting firm supporting projects across healthcare, education, commercial, retail, and institutional markets. This is a 100% remote opportunity , offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with a highly respected engineering team on a diverse portfolio of building projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical building systems design within an MEP consulting environment and is comfortable taking projects from initial calculations and system layouts through construction documents and multidisciplinary coordination. Responsibilities Design electrical building systems for commercial, healthcare, educational, retail, and institutional facilities. Develop power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and low-voltage system designs . Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit calculations, and other engineering analyses. Design and size electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear, transformers, panelboards, feeders, and branch circuits . Develop interior and exterior lighting designs, lighting controls, and associated calculations. Design emergency and standby power systems, including generators, transfer switches, and UPS systems. Prepare electrical construction documents, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, specifications, calculations, and technical reports. Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to develop and coordinate electrical engineering drawings. Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and other engineering disciplines. Ensure designs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable energy and building codes, and industry standards . Participate in design reviews and provide technical solutions throughout all phases of a project. Support project management activities, including scheduling, multidisciplinary coordination, and client communication. Provide construction administration support, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and assisting with field-related design issues as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 5+ years of electrical building systems design experience within an MEP consulting environment. Strong experience designing electrical systems for commercial or institutional buildings. Experience with power distribution, lighting, electrical load calculations, and building electrical infrastructure . Proficiency with AutoCAD ; Revit experience highly preferred . Strong knowledge of the NEC and applicable electrical and energy codes . Understanding of electrical distribution equipment, emergency power systems, lighting controls, and building electrical systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while working independently in a remote environment. Preferred Qualifications EIT or PE License. Experience designing electrical systems for healthcare, educational, commercial, retail, or institutional facilities. Experience with generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, and emergency/standby power . Experience with fire alarm and low-voltage system design and coordination. Familiarity with electrical analysis and lighting calculation software. Experience with construction administration, including submittal reviews and RFIs. Project management and client-facing experience. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary MEP projects.
