Mid-Level M&A Associate | Remote, US | $190K–$270K Total Comp
A Pitchbook-ranked boutique built by lawyers who cut their teeth at the top startup-focused firms in the world is quietly expanding its M&A bench — and looking for someone ready to run deals, not just staff them.
This firm has spent years serving as outside general counsel to some of the fastest-growing venture-backed companies on the planet. Now they need a Mid-Level M&A Associate to take real ownership of strategic transactions — buy-side and sell-side, often cross-border — for high-growth tech clients.
What sets this apart from a typical Big Law seat:
Deal teams here are deliberately lean — partner, associate, paralegal. No armies of juniors to hide behind. You'll be the primary client contact, negotiating directly with opposing counsel, drafting and running definitive agreements (SPAs, APAs, ancillary docs) end-to-end under light supervision. It's real autonomy, real responsibility, and a genuine path to partnership title — without the multi-year associate treadmill.
The work:
What they're looking for:
Base salary $152K–$216K, with total comp of $190K–$270K depending on your chosen hours target (1,200–1,350). Compensation is split 80/20 salary/bonus, paid quarterly, with additional bonuses for hours worked above target. If you bring a book of business, an origination bonus is available — though it's not required. No equity, but a non-equity partner title is achievable. Fully remote, US-based (visa sponsorship not available for this role).
This is a rare combination: boutique-level ownership and client contact, without sacrificing the caliber of work you'd expect at a top-tier firm. Confidential enquiries welcome.
