Your future position Kpler’s Agriculture & Dry Bulk business unit is rapidly expanding its Metals & Minerals coverage and is looking for an analytical, data-literate Metals Insight Analyst to join its growing team. In this role, you will use Kpler’s industry-leading, real-time trade flow data to produce original, market-shaping research across exchange-traded metals (copper, aluminium, nickel, zinc, lead) and energy-transition materials (lithium, manganese, chrome). You will translate raw data into sharp short, medium, and long-term views on supply, demand, and price direction. Because you are joining a high-growth business unit, you will play a foundational role in the evolution of our product. This is a truly hybrid-minded position where you will serve as the subject matter expert bridging the gap between market reality and technical architecture-partnering closely with our dedicated data operations team to build, refine, and validate fundamental datasets. Your mission is to: Market analysis and publications: Produce timely research on metals markets-covering trade flows, supply/demand dynamics, price drivers, and macro themes-drawing on Kpler's proprietary data alongside external sources. Price outlook: Form and maintain a view on the price outlook for metals within your coverage; defend this view through publications, client interactions, and public commentary. Fundamental S/D research and data development: Build and maintain supply and demand balance frameworks for commodities within your remit, and work closely with the data operations team to develop and validate the underlying datasets that support them. Webinars and events: Represent Kpler at industry events, webinars, and conferences; contribute to media outreach and build Kpler's profile within the metals community. Client and commercial support: Contribute to client engagement alongside Sales and Customer Success, translating complex data and analysis into clear commercial narratives. Product input: Identify gaps in Kpler's metals coverage and contribute to the product roadmap by surfacing analytical needs and proposing data enhancements; collaborate with Marketing on thought leadership content and event programming. Experience & Background Essential 3–6 years of experience as a Commodity Analyst or Researcher with a focus on metals or closely related markets Advanced Excel and data modelling; ability to build and manage large datasets Demonstrable experience producing published market research, reports, or commentary Hands-on experience working with trade data, pricing series, inventory data, and/or positioning data Experience building or contributing to supply/demand balance models or quantitative market frameworks Comfortable forming and communicating a price view to external audiences Desirable A foundational understanding of SQL or Python is highly valued. We are looking for an analyst with a strong appetite and capability to develop and deploy these programming skills alongside our data teams to automate workflows and enhance our proprietary databases.
