The Manager, Field Leader Support leads and develops a team of administrative support roles (Executive Assistants and/or Senior Administrative Assistants) to deliver consistent, high-quality support aligned to leader needs and enterprise standards.

Partners with the Director of Field Operations team, Area Vice Presidents (AVPs), and Area Operations Leads (AOLs) to ensure administrative support is effectively deployed to meet defined priorities. Owns the performance, capacity, and capability of the administrative support function (EA and SAA), enabling field leaders to focus on business results, talent, and advisor outcomes.

This can be a remote position within the US.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Team Leadership & Change Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Executive Assistants (EAs) and/or Senior Administrative Assistants (SAAs), ensuring alignment to clear role expectations and consistent service delivery

  • Drive performance management, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, development planning, and performance reviews

  • Establish consistent team practices (e.g., 1:1s, team meetings, training, and development routines)

  • Build team capability through ongoing training, upskilling, and alignment to enterprise standards

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strong stakeholder partnership

  • Partner with AVPs and Area Operations Leads to support adoption of change initiatives, ensuring support team readiness, training, and consistent execution

  • Reinforce adoption of new tools, processes, and ways of working by providing clear guidance and expectations across support roles

Administrative Support Delivery & Alignment

  • Ensure consistent, high-quality administrative support is delivered to AVPs and frontline leaders across Areas

  • Deploy support resources effectively based on leader needs, priorities, and capacity demands

  • Reinforce role clarity and appropriate use of EA and SAA support to ensure leaders focus on highest-value activities

  • Resolve issues between leaders and support staff, ensuring alignment and effective partnership

  • Ensure support roles operate within defined scope and menu of services

Expense Management & Financial Coordination

  • Oversee execution of Area-level expense processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with enterprise guidelines

  • Ensure expenses (e.g., invoices, reimbursements, corporate card activity, travel) are processed and submitted in alignment with SLAs and finance requirements

  • Provide direction and oversight to support staff on expense submission, tracking, and documentation standards

  • Maintain visibility into Area spend and support preparation of summaries and tracking for leader review

  • Partner with centralized finance and accounts payable teams to resolve issues, provide required documentation, and ensure smooth processing

  • Ensure accurate tracking of financial elements such as FA rent, chargebacks, and reimbursements

Process Improvement & Best Practice Alignment

  • Partner with Director of Field Operations and peer team to implement and scale best practices for administrative support across Areas

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and service delivery across support roles

  • Drive adoption of standardized processes, tools, and practices

  • Provide feedback on pain points and opportunities to enhance support models and workflows

Project & Ad Hoc Support

  • Ensure support team execution of initiatives aligned to priorities defined by AVPs and Area Operations Leads, in alignment of support staff menu of services

  • Coordinate support staff contributions to cross-functional efforts, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met

  • Maintain accountability for delivery quality through support roles

  • Provide visibility into execution progress, risks, and capacity to Area Operations Leads and AVPs

  • Support additional operational or administrative needs as required

  • Influences outcomes through alignment, coordination, and disciplined execution

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:  

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience leading others and driving execution of operational or strategic priorities

  • Demonstrated experience in budget management and financial oversight, including expense tracking and controls

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including coaching and performance management

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build strong cross-functional partnerships

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvement and supporting change management initiatives

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage and influence stakeholders at multiple levels

  • Proficiency with technology and business tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Salesforce)

  • Resilience and solution-oriented mindset

  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 15%

Preferred:

  • Experience in financial services or a distributed field organization

  • Experience supporting or leading multi-area or field-based operations

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $89,895.00 - $121,621.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
