The Role: The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of technology projects across infrastructure, applications, service transition and business initiatives. The role works closely with BTS technical teams, Business Unit IT teams, third-party suppliers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into deliverable project plans, manage technical dependencies, and ensure solutions are implemented safely, securely and to agreed standards. The role will provide clear governance, RAID management, delivery planning and stakeholder communications, while co-ordinating technical resources to support successful adoption, handover into service and realization of agreed outcomes. The role will manage a portfolio of projects across the US, Canada and Central America. What You’ll Do: • Lead technical projects end-to-end, from initiation and scope definition through to implementation, service transition and closure. • Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering technical workstreams, dependencies, milestones, resources, budgets and acceptance criteria. • Co-ordinate cross-functional technical teams, Business Unit IT teams, suppliers and third parties to deliver agreed outcomes safely and efficiently. • Manage project RAID logs, ensuring technical risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies are understood, owned, escalated and mitigated. • Translate business requirements and technical inputs into clear delivery plans, governance updates and decision points for sponsors and stakeholders. • Ensure technical change, business readiness, communications, testing, cutover, hyper care and handover activities are planned and executed effectively. • Apply appropriate project governance using waterfall, agile or hybrid methods, proportionate to project complexity, risk and delivery approach. • Manage project financials, including estimates, budgets, forecasts, purchase orders and supplier costs across Capex and Opex where applicable. • Support technical assurance, security, compliance and service management requirements, ensuring solutions align with BTS standards & operational support models. • Prepare clear status reporting for project boards, steering committees and senior stakeholders, highlighting progress, decisions required and delivery confidence. • Drive delivery pace while maintaining quality, ensuring project teams remain focused, collaborative and accountable for agreed deliverables. • Capture lessons learned and embed continuous improvement across technical delivery practices, templates and project governance. What You’ll Need: Experience of delivering technical IT projects across infrastructure, applications, cloud, workplace, security, integration or service transition environments. Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, including project plans, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and stakeholder reporting. Strong understanding of technical delivery lifecycles, including requirements, design, build, testing, cutover, implementation, hypercare and handover into support. Experience working with technical teams, suppliers and Business Unit IT stakeholders across geographically dispersed or federated organisations. Ability to challenge technical plans constructively, identify delivery risks early and drive pragmatic resolution with the right owners. Experience applying waterfall, agile or hybrid project delivery methods in proportion to project complexity and governance requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into clear business language for varied audiences. Proven stakeholder management, prioritisation and influencing skills, with the ability to maintain momentum across competing priorities. Experience operating within an IT service management provider, consultancy or federated enterprise IT environment. Knowledge of service transition, change control, operational readiness and support model design. Experience delivering M365, network, endpoint, infrastructure refresh, application migration, cyber/security or business integration projects. Comfortable working through ambiguity, shaping technical delivery plans from discovery outputs and incomplete information. Solid understanding of project delivery tools such as Microsoft Project, Planner, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint and Teams. Ability to engage effectively with C-suite, C-minus-one, technical specialists, operational teams and external suppliers. Strong interpersonal skills, including coaching, collaboration, facilitation and building shared ownership across delivery teams. Relevant project management or technical certifications such as PRINCE2, APM, Agile, Scrum, ITIL or Microsoft fundamentals. 5 years of relevant experience, and Bachelor's degree preferred. The pay range listed represents the target hiring range for this position; however, the actual base pay offered to the best talent and fit for the posted role will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge, qualifications and skills, relevant experience, geographical location and internal equity. Future compensation decisions for employees in this role will utilize the full pay range, not solely the typical hiring range. Compensation is adjusted based on the candidate’s local labor market and may vary within this range.
