🚀 We're Looking for a Microsoft 365 Technical Consultant

We're hiring on behalf of a specialist AI governance and security consultancy looking for a technically minded Microsoft 365 specialist to join its growing team.

And we're looking for someone who is hands-on with Microsoft 365 administration, security and configuration.

This isn't a general IT support role.

We're looking for someone who understands how Microsoft environments work, has practical experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Purview, and wants to develop their expertise in Microsoft Copilot and enterprise AI security.

You'll help assess Microsoft environments, analyse configuration data and support the implementation of technical controls that allow organisations to adopt AI safely.

If you've spent the last few years administering Microsoft 365, troubleshooting configurations, supporting deployments and getting into the technical detail, this could be an excellent next step.

You don't need to be an AI governance expert already.

You do need a solid Microsoft 365 technical foundation and a genuine interest in where AI is heading.

🎯 The Opportunity

As organisations increasingly adopt AI tools and agents, they need to understand how to manage access, protect sensitive information and maintain control over how these technologies are used.

You'll work alongside experienced technical consultants, helping organisations assess their Microsoft environments and put the right technical controls in place.

Your work will include analysing tenant exports, reviewing configurations, testing controls, maintaining scripts and translating technical findings into clear documentation.

You'll gain exposure to technologies including Microsoft Entra ID, Purview, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and Power Platform, while developing your technical consulting skills.

This is an opportunity to move beyond general Microsoft 365 administration and build specialist expertise in cloud security and enterprise AI, with structured training and guidance from senior consultants.

🛠️ What You'll Be Doing

• Run Microsoft 365 tenant exports and prepare client data for technical analysis.
• Analyse Power Platform, Copilot Studio and AI agent inventories.
• Review Microsoft configuration evidence against established governance frameworks.
• Work with Microsoft Entra ID and Purview, including sensitivity labels, data loss prevention (DLP) and retention policies.
• Configure and test Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI agent controls in a demonstration environment.
• Support hands-on configuration work across client engagements under the guidance of senior technical consultants.
• Help identify configuration gaps and document technical findings.
• Draft technical assessment reports, configuration guides and supporting documentation.
• Maintain and improve PowerShell scripts, export processes and assessment tooling.
• Work collaboratively with senior consultants to turn technical requirements into practical solutions.
• Continue developing your knowledge of Microsoft security, cloud administration and AI technologies.

🧠 What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Have 1–3 years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration, IT support, engineering or technical consulting.
• Have hands-on experience administering and configuring Microsoft 365 environments.
• Have practical experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Purview.
• Understand Purview features such as sensitivity labels, data loss prevention and retention policies.
• Have exposure to Microsoft 365 Copilot or Copilot Studio, such as enabling, configuring or supporting a deployment.
• Have some experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
• Be comfortable working with data in Excel and analysing technical information.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Be able to document technical findings clearly and accurately.
• Have excellent written English and strong attention to detail.
• Be proactive, curious and willing to learn new technologies.
• Be comfortable working independently while collaborating with a remote team.

🚫 This Probably Isn't the Role for You If...

• Your experience is primarily general IT support without hands-on Microsoft 365 administration or configuration.
• You've only used Microsoft 365 as an end user rather than administering or supporting the platform.
• You have no practical exposure to Microsoft Entra ID or Purview.
• You're looking for a purely strategic AI role without technical implementation work.
• You prefer client relationship management over analysing configurations, data and technical evidence.
• You're not comfortable with scripting, technical documentation or detailed analytical work.
• You're not interested in learning how Microsoft Copilot and AI agents are secured and managed.

We're looking for hands-on Microsoft 365 experience, not just general IT knowledge or an interest in AI.

💻 Technical Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

Experience in any of the following areas will strengthen your application:

• Microsoft Entra ID – identity and access management.
• Microsoft Purview – information protection, sensitivity labels, DLP and retention.
• Microsoft 365 Copilot – deployment, configuration or support.
• Copilot Studio – configuring and supporting Copilot solutions.
• PowerShell – scripting, reporting and automation.
• Power Platform – administration and configuration.
• Microsoft certifications – SC-401, AB-650, AB-620 or MS-102, completed or in progress.

Experience with a Microsoft partner, consultancy or managed service provider would also be beneficial.

You don't need to tick every box, but you should have a strong foundation in Microsoft 365 administration and a willingness to develop further.
