Microsoft Database Administrator (SQL & Fabric) (m/f/n)

For our Partner delivering services to a European Union organization operating in the defence sector, we are looking for an experienced Microsoft Database Administrator to join a long-term international project based in Warsaw.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly secure and technologically advanced environment supporting critical Microsoft database services.

Responsibilities:

• Administration and monitoring MS SQL based database services
• Providing 2nd line support to database management
• Update the technical documentation and operating procedures
• Troubleshooting databases
• Deploying databases
• Extracting, transforming and loading data
• Planning capacity and availability of databases, tuning and optimizing databases
• Implementing changes according to ICT change management procedures
• Database monitoring and tuning
• Database incident management
• Reporting on activities
• Other specific duties as assigned by supervisor

Mandatory Requirements:

• EU Citizenship
• Minimum Education Level: 6
• Minimum English Language Skills (CEFR): B2
  • An English certificate may be required during the recruitment process. Candidates without a valid certificate may obtain one before the final submission stage
• Minimum IT Relevant Professional Experience: 5 years
• Minimum Experience in a Similar Position: 3 years
• Personal Security Clearance is required (security screening procedure must be initiated within the first 45 days of assignment)

Knowledge and Skills:

Technical Requirements:

• Experienced in administration of complex MS SQL based systems deployed in distributed environments
• Expert in optimizing, tuning and planning capacity of databases
• Experience in scripting MS SQL databases, data transformations and ETL tools including cloud services
• Experience in design, implementation and maintenance Microsoft Business Intelligence on-premises tools and services
• Experience in design, implementation and maintenance Microsoft Fabric tools and services
• Hands-on Experience in monitoring systems
• Hands-on Experience in administering virtual infrastructure
• Basic Knowledge in administering other Microsoft systems

Soft Skills:

• A proactive attitude, team-work spirit, being self-motivated with a strong user orientation
• Able to cope with the fast changing technologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technologies, technical and business concepts to multiple audiences

Specific Requirements:

• Experience in working in Restricted environments
• Knowledge of DBPlus Performance Monitor application
• Creating and managing Always On deployments
• Mastery of recovery models (Full, Simple, Bulk-Logged) and disaster recovery methodologies
• Expertise in using tools like SQL Profiler, Execution Plans, and Dynamic Management Views (DMVs) to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks

Preferred Certificates:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate

Equivalent industry-recognized certifications demonstrating comparable expertise may also be considered.
