Senior D365 Finance Lead
North Technology Group (NTG)
Location: Europe (EU or UK) · Remote, with occasional travel
Reports to: Chief Information Officer
Type: Full-time, permanent
About North Technology Group
NTG is a global holding company of premium marine and action sports brands, including North Sails, North Sails Apparel, North Action Sports, Southern Spars, Hall Spars, Future Fibres, Quantum Sails, and Doyle Sails. Our centralized IT shared services function delivers technology across all brands worldwide.
The Role
You will own the Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain platform for the group. This is a senior hands-on position: you will lead functional design, run implementations and rollouts, manage vendor partners, and act as the primary escalation point for finance systems across multiple legal entities in more than a dozen countries. You will work directly with group and brand finance leadership in Europe, and you will build out a core D365 service function for the group.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the D365 Finance & Supply Chain roadmap, configuration, and release management across all NTG entities
• Manage the environment lifecycle through Lifecycle Services (LCS) and the Power Platform admin center, including One Version service updates, sandbox and production environments, release planning, and regression testing
• Act as the group's key enabler for new platform capability: track Microsoft release waves, Copilot and AI features, and wider D365 trends, then bring the ones that earn their place into the business with a clear case
• Lead functional workstreams for new entity onboarding, chart of accounts alignment, and intercompany processes
• Drive statutory and regulatory compliance in the platform, including EU electronic invoicing mandates (France, Germany, Italy), tax localizations, and the Electronic Invoicing / edoc framework • Design and govern integrations between D365 and surrounding systems, including our in-house CPQ/order platform (MS SQL Server), banking interfaces, and automation tooling (n8n)
• Support month-end and year-end close from a systems perspective, including troubleshooting, batch job management, and performance issues
• Manage Microsoft and ISV partner relationships, evaluate third-party solutions, and challenge licensing and implementation costs
• Build a core D365 service function for the group, defining functional standards, support processes, and the escalation model
• Translate finance requirements into clear functional designs, and push back where standard D365 capability is the better answer
• Present status, risks, and options to the CIO, CFO, and brand General Managers
What You Bring
Required:
• 8+ years in D365 Finance & Operations (or AX 2012) functional roles, with at least 3 years leading workstreams or teams
• Deep knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, and intercompany accounting in D365
• Hands-on experience with the Electronic Reporting and Electronic Invoicing frameworks, including at least one European e-invoicing or localization rollout
• Experience running multi-entity, multi-currency environments across several countries
• Strong grasp of D365 integration patterns: Data Management Framework, OData, Dataverse dual-write, and middleware-based approaches
• Working knowledge of LCS, environment management, and the One Version continuous update cadence, including test strategy for service updates
• Proven ability to manage implementation partners and hold vendors to scope button and budget
• Clear, confident communication with senior finance stakeholders, in fluent English
• Right to work in the EU or the UK, and comfort operating across European time zones
Desirable:
• Manufacturing or supply chain module experience (production control, inventory, procurement)
• Experience with European and global tax reporting to fiscal authorities, such as e-invoicing mandates, digital VAT submissions, and real-time reporting regimes
• Additional European languages (French, Italian, German, Spanish)
• Microsoft certifications (MB-310 Finance Functional Consultant or similar)
• Experience directing offshore or shared services support teams
• Power Platform, Azure integration services, or SQL skills
Working Pattern
Remote within Europe. Travel to NTG entities is possible for rollouts and workshops, though not a regular part of the role.
