As we continue to scale, we are looking for a Mid-Level Full Stack Engineer (Backend-Leaning) to join our Core team and help build the technology powering one of the world's fastest growing crypto casinos. You'll work across backend services, APIs, real-time systems, databases, and interactive web experiences. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems, taking ownership of their work, and developing their skills while working on a product operating at significant global scale. What You’ll Be Doing Build and maintain scalable backend services supporting player accounts, wallets, games, leaderboards, and other core platform features Develop and optimize Node.js microservices and APIs Work with distributed systems and event-driven architectures Build and maintain real-time functionality using WebSockets, Pub/Sub, and messaging systems Develop performant and interactive web experiences using React Work with PostgreSQL and Redis to build reliable, high-performance data systems Collaborate with product managers, designers, front-end engineers, and DevOps to deliver features from concept through to production Monitor and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of the systems you work on Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices Help improve our CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and development processes Investigate production issues and contribute to effective, long-term solutions Take ownership of projects and features while working closely with more senior engineers on technical direction Technologies You’ll Work With Core Infrastructure React PixiJS Node.js TypeScript PostgreSQL Redis Kafka What We’re Looking For Must-Haves 3–5+ years of professional software engineering experience Strong experience with Node.js and backend development Experience building and maintaining APIs and backend services Good understanding of databases, ideally PostgreSQL Experience with React and modern front-end development Familiarity with real-time systems such as WebSockets Understanding of asynchronous and event-driven architectures Experience working with CI/CD and modern development workflows Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of your work Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a remote team Nice-to-Haves Experience in crypto or iGaming Background in gaming, gambling, or iGaming platforms Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or other messaging systems Familiarity with game networking, animations, or interactive applications Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS Experience with PixiJS or similar rendering/game frameworks Experience working with high-traffic or high-throughput platforms Why Join Over99?
