Who we are

Blackbird Lab is a software development company. While we are practicing an international working culture, we are proud representatives of Ukrainian values and traditions. We are a team of 90+ energetic, curious, smart, and open to new challenges tech pros who prefer efficient async communication, flexible working hours, a co-working office model, etc.

Being in this craft for 8+ years, we managed to accumulate expertise and bring value to a number of clients. We cooperate with US and Canadian product companies of different sizes, from small startups to established products, in close, trusted relationships.

All team members, including management, have an engineering background. The process, participants who speak the same language and have a similar approach based on technical principles, is always efficient. It is way easier to make decisions and introduce new features in a team with engineering at heart. It is the technical DNA that lets us build high-quality products that facilitate the lives of our customers’ users.

Position & client

Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing Adtech e-commerce platform, built for merchants to generate incremental revenue with performance marketing and AI tooling to improve their shopping campaigns. Furthermore, Shoparize is revolutionizing the way people shop online. Our platform aggregates product listings from various retailers, providing users with a seamless and comprehensive shopping experience.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Content Platform team.

You will maintain and evolve FAdmin, our core flyer processing system, together with the other systems the team owns: workflow executor, vendors, merchant admin, FTP sync and store admin.

You will deliver roadmap work end to end, support the team on our service desk and stakeholder request boards, and work AI-first: using Claude Code and agentic coding every day to ship faster, and helping make FAdmin easier for AI agents to work on safely.

If you enjoy owning a mission-critical production system, shipping quality code with a tight feedback loop, and shaping how a team develops software with AI agents, this role is for you!

What you will do
  • Maintain, evolve, and deliver roadmap features end-to-end for FAdmin and Content Platform ecosystem tools.

  • Work with an AI-first approach every day using tools like Claude Code and agentic workflows to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and refactor codebase architecture to be agent-friendly.

  • Actively support the team on the Content Layer Service Desk (CLSD) and internal Ask boards to address issues, support operations, and resolve service requests promptly.

  • Write automated tests, participate in peer code reviews, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous, high-quality deployments.

What you will need
  • 2 to 5 years of back-end or full-stack development experience.

  • Proven production experience building and maintaining applications with Ruby on Rails.

  • 2 to 5 years of solid experience working with relational databases and SQL query design.

  • Daily experience using AI coding agents (Claude Code or similar) for planning tasks, reviewing/testing AI-generated code, and maintaining strict quality standards.

  • Experience with automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.

  • History of shipping quality code and features reliably to production.

  • Fluent English: Strong written and spoken communication skills.

Nice to have
  • Deep understanding of skills, MCP servers, subagents and context engineering.

  • Experience with Kafka or message broker systems.

  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and AWS.

  • Experience with Datadog and participating in production on-call rotations.

  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript / TypeScript.

  • Familiarity with LLM-powered product features or content/catalog data pipelines.

Benefits

We are all for the self-development of each team member. As a part of our team, you’ll be supported in your professional growth, work on Macs, receive certifications, and visit conferences. On top of that, you will enjoy an attractive social package, including

  • Сompetitive monthly compensation

  • Flexible working schedule

  • Working remotely

  • 18 paid vacation working days

  • Paid sick leave (with 5 undocumented days per year)

  • Health support with medical insurance or sports programs

  • English lessons, sports activities, and charity events

  • Full support of Private Entrepreneur reporting services (ФОП)
