Middleware Operations Engineer — Kafka / Qlik / Cloudera

We are looking for a Middleware Operations Engineer to join a challenging technology project, supporting Kafka and Qlik Replicate platforms in a production-critical environment.

🎯 Your role

• Support the daily RUN activities of Kafka and Qlik Replicate platforms.
• Monitor production services, investigate incidents and restore service promptly.
• Manage standard changes, service requests and operational documentation.
• Work autonomously within an L2 support model, escalating risks when required.
• Strengthen the team’s autonomy in Qlik Replicate operations and reinforce Kafka production support.
• Develop an understanding of dependencies with the Cloudera environment.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, production support, network and application teams.
• Contribute technical recommendations and clear operational handovers.

🔎 What we are looking for

• 3+ years of experience in production support, middleware operations or platform operations.
• Experience in banking or other critical production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience in Kafka administration or operations support.
• Experience troubleshooting Kafka production incidents.
• Experience with Qlik Replicate or similar replication and Change Data Capture technologies.
• Understanding of CDC and data replication concepts.
• Good knowledge of Linux administration and log analysis.
• Experience with monitoring tools, ticketing, incident management and operational procedures.
• Ability to manage L2 RUN activities independently.
• Strong documentation, communication and handover practices.
• English at C1 level and French at A1 level.

⭐ Nice to have

• Previous exposure to Cloudera environments and their dependencies.
• Additional knowledge of database replication concepts.

📍 Opportunity details

Location: Lisbon

Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience.

Working model: Hybrid

Working hours: 09:00–18:00

On-call: Required.

Salary Package & Benefits: €1,200 to €2,000 (salary base) + Food Allowance + Flex Benefits
