LMI seeks a Military Health Clinical Policy and Execution SME to support a federal program management office in Northern Virginia. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our Military Health clients create military health policy, clinical guidance, and program execution to meet critical Warfighter Brain Health priorities. This role requires subject matter expertise in Warfighter Brain Health priorities like Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Health clinical care delivery, and Military Health policy to serve as a high-level contributor and advisor bridging the gap between clinical healthcare delivery and Department of War (DoW) operational readiness. These roles are often situated within the Military Health System or the Defense Health Agency (DHA), providing technical and strategic guidance to senior leadership, including the DHA Deputy Assistant Director-Medical Affairs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate experience working with military healthcare providers, operational leaders, and government stakeholders to support clinical policy, program development, and operational improvements.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of DHA health care delivery, health policy, governance, and federal healthcare regulations including HIPAA and Joint Commission standards.
• Serve as an advisor on Military Health clinical care delivery including traumatic brain injury and other Warfighter Brain Health priorities, and Military Health policy supporting programmatic and solution development initiatives aligned with Warfighter Brain Health priorities.
• Coordinate and collaborate with clinical teams, operational stakeholders, and cross functional project staff to assess current care practices, identify gaps, and synthesize insights into evidence-based policy and program and clinical recommendations.
• Conduct structured engagement with clinical stakeholders to gather insights on current practices, challenges, and opportunities for improvement within military care environments.
• Evaluate existing policies, clinical guidance, and care delivery workflows to validate assumptions, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend evidence-based updates aligned with Department of Defense health policy and federal healthcare regulations.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, clinical leadership, and program teams to ensure evidence-based recommendations are incorporated into program outputs, policy guidance, clinical workflows, and training materials supporting Warfighter Brain Health initiatives.
• Provide subject matter expertise during the development of program capabilities, tools, and supporting solutions, ensuring clinical and policy alignment throughout program planning and implementation activities.
• Analyze current workflows, identify inefficiencies and challenges, and use data-driven strategies to redesign processes, automate workflows, and generate actionable recommendations that enhance operational effectiveness and inform solution development.
• Serve as a day-to-day Military Health Policy expert for assigned initiatives and acts as a point of escalation for clinical and policy related.
• Produce supporting documentation including evidence summaries, policy analyses, and recommendation briefs to support program leadership and government stakeholders.
• Ensure provider and point of care perspectives are incorporated into policy and solution recommendations to support usability, operational feasibility, and improved care outcomes for military healthcare providers and patients.
• Attend meetings as designated by LMI program manager or assigned delegate to include both client facing meetings and internal contract team meetings.
• Support development of contract deliverables as assigned by LMI Program manager or assigned delegate.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
• Bachelors degree with 3 or more years of clinical experience in the health care setting providing direct care to traumatic brain injury patients, including performing relevant patient assessments, identification of relevant diagnosis, symptom management, and development of treatment and care plans to support patient care.
• 5 or more years of professional experience in healthcare administrations or operations with at least 2-5 years specifically supporting DoD or Federal government healthcare, including direct clinical experience with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) care.
• Sound understanding of clinical care delivery concepts in TBI and other acute illness, and their application in real-world problem-solving.
• Experience in preparing executive-level briefings, white papers, and Reports to Congress for General Officers and Senior Executive Service (SES) leaders.
• Experience in Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate working groups and coordinate with interagency partners, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Combatant Commands, and the Joint Staff and others.
• Experience with development, implantation of, and ensuring compliance of health policies and clinical recommendations, and conducting investigations or assurance activities to ensure program compliance.
• Experience managing multi-faceted projects within aggressive DHA timelines and budget constraints.
• Expertise in research, drafting, and updating DoD issuances, instructions, and manuals (e.g., DoDI/DoDDs) related to health services preferably in the areas of TBI and brain health.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure high levels of execution, production and data accuracy.
• Ability to collaborate with the integrated, multidisciplinary project team to compile, collate, integrate, and transform large sets of data into simplified, meaningful, and actionable trends and visualizations for non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including expert-level technical and military writing skills for high-stakes audiences, to effectively convey complex data insights.
• Ability to synthesize complex clinical data into policy-ready recommendations.
• Ability to present findings clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and team members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Jira/Confluence.

Target Salary Range: $95,000-$120,000
