Overview

DecisionPoint is seeking an experienced
Military OneSource Mobile Application Engineer to support the MODES III program. This individual will develop, modernize, test, deploy, and maintain secure iOS and Android applications supporting military members, families, and service providers. The engineer will support the My Military OneSource, Chill Drills, MilProvider, and future applications. The ideal candidate has experience developing production mobile applications, integrating RESTful APIs and cloud services, managing mobile CI/CD pipelines, and supporting Apple App Store and Google Play releases.\
This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

Mobile Application Engineering
  • Develop and maintain mobile applications for Apple iOS and Google Android.
  • Implement new features, enhancements, and modernization initiatives.
  • Translate user stories, UX designs, and technical requirements into reliable mobile solutions.
  • Develop responsive, accessible, and platform-appropriate user interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot crashes, performance issues, integration failures, and production defects.
  • Support native and cross-platform mobile development technologies.
API, Cloud & DevSecOps Support
  • Integrate mobile applications with RESTful APIs, databases, identity services, AWS-hosted systems, and third-party services.
  • Implement authentication, push notifications, analytics, secure storage, caching, synchronization, and offline functionality.
  • Support Git-based source control, automated testing, build processes, and mobile CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage application signing, provisioning, testing, deployment, and release activities.
  • Support application submissions and updates through Apple App Store and Google Play.
Security, Accessibility & Quality
  • Apply secure mobile-development practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, code reviews, automated testing, and production monitoring.
  • Develop applications consistent with Section 508 and applicable accessibility requirements.
  • Support RMF, Zero Trust, NIST SP 800-53, privacy, and Authority to Operate requirements.
  • Monitor application crashes, performance data, platform warnings, and user feedback.
Agile Delivery & Collaboration
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, business analysts, testers, architects, cybersecurity personnel, and Government stakeholders.
  • Provide estimates, technical documentation, status updates, and implementation recommendations.
  • Contribute technical ideas and modernization recommendations to the mobile product roadmap.
The Military OneSource Mobile Application Engineer will help deliver secure, accessible, and reliable mobile services that connect military members and families with trusted information, resources, and support.

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement
  • Must hold an active Secret clearance.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Required Experience
  • Minimum five years of software-development experience, including at least three years supporting production mobile applications.
  • Experience developing applications for iOS, Android, or both platforms.
  • Experience with Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Java, or Objective-C.
  • Experience with a cross-platform framework such as React Native, Flutter, Ionic, or Capacitor.
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs and cloud services.
  • Experience with authentication, secure storage, caching, synchronization, or push notifications.
  • Experience with Git, automated testing, Agile delivery, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting production mobile applications.
  • Experience preparing and deploying applications through Apple App Store or Google Play.
Preferred Experience & Certifications
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience supporting Federal, DoD, or other regulated applications.
  • Experience with AWS-hosted mobile services.
  • Experience developing for both iOS and Android.
  • Experience with Xcode, Android Studio, App Store Connect, and Google Play Console.
  • Experience developing offline-capable mobile applications.
  • Experience with mobile analytics, crash monitoring, and performance diagnostics.
  • Experience applying Section 508 requirements to mobile applications.
  • Experience with RMF, NIST SP 800-53, Zero Trust, and Authority to Operate requirements.
  • Experience working from Figma designs and established digital design systems.
