About ZOVU

ZOVU is building an integrated restaurant operating system connecting point of sale, reservations, loyalty, staff planning, and the customer experience.

Our business model is tied to restaurant transactions rather than a monthly software subscription. We are a bootstrapped startup with an MVP nearing completion and a fully remote team building toward our first restaurant launches.

The opportunity

Help build the mobile experience restaurant guests will use to discover venues, make reservations, order, and return.

This three-month internship is for a developer with practical mobile experience who wants to own meaningful features. You will work with engineering and product colleagues to turn customer journeys into clear, reliable mobile experiences.

Your focus will be the customer-facing app, where navigation, responsiveness, accessibility, and clear feedback matter as much as implementation.

What you will work on

  • Build customer journeys for restaurant discovery, menus, reservations, ordering, and loyalty as priorities are agreed.
  • Connect mobile screens to shared backend APIs.
  • Implement account access, loading states, validation, and useful error handling.
  • Support push notifications, deep links, and order-status updates.
  • Test across devices and contribute to app-store release preparation.
  • Identify unnecessary steps and confusing interactions, and propose improvements.

What we are looking for

  • A mobile app you have personally built using Flutter, React Native, Swift, or Kotlin.
  • Ability to explain your own implementation and technical decisions.
  • Experience with API integration, authentication, navigation, and state management.
  • Attention to interaction quality, accessibility, and performance.
  • Familiarity with Git, debugging, and testing.
  • Clear written English and reliable remote communication.

The customer app’s framework and your fit with it will be discussed during screening. Experience in one framework should be backed by real work.

Useful additional experience

App-store releases, push notifications, mobile checkout, loyalty products, analytics, or customer feedback that changed how you built a feature.

How we work

The internship lasts three months, with a target commitment of 32 hours per week. Tell us your actual availability when applying. We work remotely and primarily asynchronously, using written updates, focused questions, and reviewable changes.

You can own substantial features with technical guidance and code review. Continued opportunities may be discussed based on performance, business needs, and funding; a permanent position is not guaranteed.

Apply

Send your CV, GitHub or portfolio, and a short introduction to HR@zovuhq.com.
