Forte Group is looking for a Mobile Automation QA Engineer focused on AI-driven test automation. You will help improve and evolve test automation practices by applying AI to framework design, test creation, execution efficiency, maintenance, and failure analysis across Smoke, Regression, API, and Functional testing.

Our client provides leading technology and services to the golf industry across the United States and Great Britain including software that manages tee sheets, points of sale, and reservation services with a focus on providing great experience for golf players and smooth operation of golf courses. The project is a leading online service helping golfers book tee times and track their scores at more than 3,000 courses worldwide.

You will be working as a part of a dedicated agile team with a high level of responsibility for technical decisions and daily collaboration with colleagues abroad.

Technologies

  • WebdriverIO/Playwright
  • TypeScript, JavaScript
  • Git, GitHub (GHA)
  • Browserstack
  • Claude Code, Codex

Responsibility

  • Own quality for iOS and Android applications through a balanced mix of manual and automated testing across standalone features and integrated systems.
  • Analyze requirements, product changes, app and OS releases, and migrations; define a risk-based testing approach and maintain the necessary test documentation.
  • Plan and execute manual functional, integration, system, API, exploratory, regression, smoke, and user-acceptance testing; assess release readiness and manage defects through their full lifecycle.
  • Design, build, and maintain mobile automation in TypeScript/JavaScript using WebdriverIO + Appium and Maestro; create reusable test components, data, selectors, flows, and automated regression coverage for critical journeys.
  • Validate mobile-specific behavior across iOS and Android, including device and OS differences, permissions, lifecycle and interruption handling, network and offline conditions, deep links, notifications, upgrades, UI/UX, and accessibility.
  • Configure and monitor automated testing in CI/CD across simulators, emulators, and real-device or device-cloud environments; investigate failures using application logs, network traces, and backend/API evidence.
  • Work closely with product owners, developers, and QA colleagues to improve product quality and testability, maintain API coverage and the team API portfolio, communicate quality metrics and risks, and use AI agents and workflows responsibly to improve testing efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven QA experience, including full-cycle manual testing and hands-on mobile test automation for both iOS and Android.
  • Strong knowledge of QA processes and test design, with experience in requirements analysis and creating test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test suites, and test-result reports.
  • Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills and experience building maintainable automation frameworks with WebdriverIO + Appium, including XCUITest and UiAutomator2, reliable locators, reusable screen/page objects, fixtures, and data-driven tests.
  • Hands-on experience with Maestro (mobile.dev), including authoring modular YAML flows and subflows, managing test data and tags, and running tests locally and in CI.
  • Strong understanding of native, hybrid, and WebView applications and mobile testing specifics. Experience using Android Studio, Xcode, ADB/logcat, simulator/device logs, and profiling tools to investigate crashes, memory, network, and performance issues.
  • Experience working with emulators, simulators, real devices, and device-cloud providers, with the ability to define sensible device and OS coverage.
  • Understanding of mobile UI/UX and accessibility principles, including Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design, Nielsen heuristics, and accessibility identifiers. Experience with Charles, Proxyman, Fiddler, or similar network-inspection tools.
  • Strong hands-on API testing experience, including REST principles, contracts, authentication and authorization, and advanced Postman or code-based API automation: collections, environments, data-driven execution, mocks, flows, and JavaScript scripts. Familiarity with HTTP, DNS, proxies, caching, cookies, TLS, and basic OWASP mobile/API security checks is required.
  • Working SQL knowledge, including CRUD operations and relational database basics, and experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions.
  • Practical experience using AI assistants, coding agents, and agentic workflows to accelerate test design, automation, test-data preparation, API testing, and defect investigation. Ability to build and maintain purpose-built QA agents, reusable skills, workflows, and lightweight tools, while validating all generated outputs.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with an outcome-driven focus on product quality rather than test code alone.
