About the Role

The company is looking for a Mobile Engineer – React Native to join its fully remote engineering team. You will build and maintain an application for iOS and Android using React Native and Expo, working on features such as messaging, voice and video calls, media sharing, device pairing, and identity backup.

You will collaborate with product, design, and core technology teams to develop features from concept through release. The role combines cross-platform mobile development with performance optimization and integration with peer-to-peer APIs running directly on devices. It is well suited to an experienced mobile engineer interested in application reliability, privacy-focused products, and decentralized technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and maintain mobile features for messaging, voice and video calls, media sharing, device pairing, and identity backup.
• Build user interfaces and integrate them with peer-to-peer core APIs running on the device.
• Integrate native mobile features, including push notifications, camera access, biometric authentication, and background tasks.
• Profile and optimize application performance on real devices, focusing on startup time, long chat sessions, media processing, battery consumption, and network usage.
• Write and maintain unit and end-to-end tests to support application reliability and prevent regressions.
• Support stable releases through continuous integration workflows, crash reporting, and systematic debugging.
• Work closely with product, design, and peer-to-peer engineering teams to deliver new features and improve the user experience.
• Participate in code reviews, follow engineering best practices, and maintain high standards of code quality.

Required Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in React Native and mobile application development.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, including ES6+ features and modern development practices.
• Hands-on experience with Redux for state management and Redux-Saga for asynchronous workflows.
• Experience integrating and working with WebSockets and RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of mobile application architecture, performance optimization, debugging, and testing.
• Experience working with distributed or fully remote engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
• An interest in improving and optimizing existing mobile or web applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with native mobile development languages, including Swift and Kotlin.

Experience with native development and build tools such as Xcode and Android Studio.

Experience working with peer-to-peer frameworks or decentralized technologies.
