The Opportunity
We are working with a rapidly growing aerospace and uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) engineering business looking for an experienced Modelling & Simulation Engineer to join its Air Vehicle Design team.
This role is suited to an established Modelling & Simulation Engineer with proven, hands-on experience. We are looking for someone who can bring existing technical capability to the team, rather than a recent graduate or someone looking to step up into this level of position for the first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, simulate and analyse aircraft performance and flight dynamics models.
- Support air vehicle design through flight dynamics modelling and control algorithm development.
- Implement flight simulation and visualisation test environments.
- Validate models using experimental, bench and flight test data.
- Work closely with software developers, design engineers and test teams to define modelling requirements and appropriate levels of model fidelity.
- Produce technical documentation, including specifications, model descriptions, test plans and reports.
Essential Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline.
- Proven professional experience in modelling and simulation engineering.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or a comparable modelling tool.
- Demonstrable knowledge of UAV flight dynamics and flight control systems.
- Configuration management experience within an engineering environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent technical writing, communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Additional Requirements
- Eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC) at minimum, with five years' UK residency required for this role.
- British citizenship or existing permission to work in the UK.
- A full, valid UK driving licence.
- Willingness to undertake occasional national and international travel.
Why Join?
Join a growing, multidisciplinary engineering team working across the full lifecycle of innovative aerospace and uncrewed aircraft systems. You'll have the opportunity to apply your existing expertise to challenging technical projects while helping expand the team's modelling and simulation capabilities.
